Front-end developers: Do you use manual testing tools as part of your coding process?

I recently moved companies, from a startup to a larger, more corporate organisation with a separate QA department.

I was questioned when I requested a Browserstack license: "What would you do with that? Browserstack licenses are for QA." I've always included a manual testing step in my coding process, am I unusual?
