I recently wrote an article to answer the philisophical question “Why is DevOps important?” Feel free to read the full article, but here’s my TLDR:

DevOps is just a fancy name for a specific application of timeless principles such as cooperation. Cooperation has been with us since the dawn of humankind, and will be with us for as long as humanity, at least as we know it, exists. Whatever tools, methods, and even silly terms, we can use to facilitate this is probably helpful.
