This was definitely a challenge for a newbie such as myself! Definitely got ahold of how important divs and id's are to CSS. This took me about 2 days to complete. mainly trial and error and I got to embed a video :) I had to search up @media for sure.

I have taken the time to continue onto coding more and I have to say this was a great accomplishment. I learned how to setup the form, buttons, and checkboxes and dropdown menus.

Striving for my AWS Solutions Architect Certification

I have many questions for fellow solutions architects!

What motivated you to become AWS certified?

What were you doing prior to what you are doing now?

Is the money good in being an AWS SA?

How hard was it landing that first job?

I am struggling being motivated to finish up but hearing your responses will greatly push me to go through and take the exam myself.

It Is Never Too Late To Learn Code!

Coding can be a great career and a great habit. I always ask others why wait until the new years rolls in to get started? You are only delaying what could be your best trait. Some ponder and think if they are good enough to even do code? Well I say why wouldn't you? We are a capable of learning and doing such incredible things and the ability to learn code is one of them! You are given the choice to create something that you wish to make such as an app or design websites or perhaps even more.

Before beginning learning to code I thought myself if this was something I enjoyed doing. You would be surprised as to how great it feels to accomplish just doing a a simple "Hello World". I like to describe coding as creative thinking involving puzzles where the puzzles are created by me and whenever bugs occur it is up to me to solve them. The more creative I get the more bugs I may receive and thus more puzzles I get to solve. Neat right?

Recently, I had a coworker who was interested in my side work of code. I asked if she was interested in learning and asked that she had no time to learn. I found that as an excuse and made her realize that the internet has tons of free information and many tutorials on others helping many on learning how to code. It is true! We live in a generation where we have so much information given to us freely that we do not use it to better ourselves. Is it really too much of a hassle to code 20 minutes, maybe an hour a day after your full-time job? An hour a day could benefit you greatly in the long run.

Working a dead end 9 to 5 job full-time can be tiring, but it may or may not lead you somewhere. Learning for 20 minutes or even an hour is never a waste of time as you are acquiring a set of skills bettering yourself. We get too comfortable after work coming home, settling down, relaxing, and going to bed as a routine. That to me seems more wasteful than acquiring skills to pursue something like working for myself.

I never understood why people wait until the actual new year to even begin something. Possibly because of the holidays or time being spent with family, but procrastination does happen and lack of motivation kicks in around this time. Finding the motivation to even begin is one of the worst things to go through and I always tell others "Lets find a YouTube video of how to start!".

We always search things up on how to start stuff or how to fix things on YouTube. I advise many to search "Learning to code" and you will see many video tutorials just waiting for you to view and learn.

Beginner Thoughts About Web Development

Hello! I would like to say to all of my followers or anybody that this is my first post and I am nervous, anyway here we go:

As the tech field grows so do the number of people wanting to learn how to code. I know this because I myself am one of those people. I had little to no interest in coding back in high school. I learned more about it when I decided to enroll to a game development program in college. In the beginning of the program we were told we had to learn C++. I know what you're thinking, C++ is definitely not a language to dive into for any beginner who has no prior knowledge of programming. This led me to struggle tremendously in the field and put me away from ever touching code for a few years. After finding the interest in learning to code all over again I found myself infatuated with Javascript.

Some may say Javascript is a joke or that if I wanted to learn real programming to get into Python. The reality comes down to whatever language you want to learn. You do have to know the basics of HTML and CSS of course that way you go into a language knowing the basics. I myself learned that the hard way and when I came across Javascript I instantly thought " WOW this is MUCH less complex than C++ ever treated me". I guess you could say that I did not know exactly what I wanted to do when it came to coding. I noticed all the neat things you could do with Javascript. I quickly hit the books refreshing myself with CSS and HTML.

Read

Constantly reading about the language helps you expand your knowledge about it. I did the mistake of not keeping up with how Javascript kept evolving and always found reading to be a bore. I learned this the hard because I kept coding vanilla Javascript even after ES6 was picked up by many.

Problem Solving

Most of Web Development I like to say that is problem solving. If you want to do an animation or if your div just needs some padding or margin or need a flexbox it is up to you the developer to find out how to do it. Of course there is google to help, but we also run into the ever so fun bugs.

Stay interested

I have little to no developer friends and when I discuss html css or javascript when they ask they look at me confused. It is hard to code or get into coding if you do not have an interest or passion about it. An old college buddy of mine kept redoing his portfolio because he kept cancelling every portfolio he ever started on and then one day he just quit. He told me that he just did not have the passion or interest in coding any more. Which leads me to my next point.

Find an idea and follow through

Many code newbies begin a project and fall off within a certain amount of time and never come back. Some even decide to start a different project even while working on their current project. Try to stay on task and follow through until the end.

You are your own worst critic

Criticism is hard to accept and can be very nerve wracking when it comes to others. In reality what does not look good to you may look amazing to others. No matter what little change your website or application needs it may not be a big bother to others.

I hope you guys enjoyed this small read. I just felt like finally writing about something I like to talk about on here and wish to meet other like minded readers!
