GitHub Arctic Code Vault

While going through my GitHub profile I saw this today. A Highlights section has been appeared with a tag Arctic Code Vault Contributor.

 What is Arctic Code Vault?

Svalbard is an archipelago in the town of Longyearbyen near the Arctic circle.

It contains a Seed Vault which contains seeds and have been stored there for saving the diversity of plant genes.

So GitHub has set up a similar kind of vault for open-source projects and chose the projects/repository which have been public before 2nd February 2020.

The open-source projects have been stored on silver halide films which is claimed to store it fore next 1000 years.

I glad to be a part of it!
