This Was Supposed to Be a 1-Week Project

I started this project thinking it would take one week.

Just a small app directory.
Nothing serious.

“Build it fast, ship it, move on.”

Four months later… I’m still here.

What surprised me wasn’t the code. It was how quickly I started caring.
At first, I was just listing apps like many directories do. But the more I worked on it, the more it felt empty. Pages existed, but they didn’t really help anyone.

So I kept tweaking things:

adding real use-cases

separating Android, iOS, and web apps properly

thinking about who would use an app, not just what it is

Somewhere along the way, the project quietly changed direction.

It stopped being “an app directory” and turned into something closer to:
apps for real needs, not just listings.

Whether someone is a student, a professional, or running a small business, I wanted them to land on a page and think:

“Yeah, this actually solves my problem.”

I still tell myself I’ll “finish it soon”.
But side projects have a funny way of growing once you’re emotionally invested.

Still building. Still refactoring. Still learning to keep things simple.

If you’re curious, this is what I’ve been slowly shaping:
I Built TrackInterview — A Simple Way to Track Job Applications

During job searches, I found myself juggling spreadsheets, notes, and emails just to keep track of applications and interviews. It was messy and easy to lose context.

So I built TrackInterview.

TrackInterview is a simple tool focused only on one thing:
helping you track job applications and interviews in one place.

No job listings.
No preparation content.
Just tracking—who you applied to, what stage you’re in, and what happened next.

It’s built with a focus on simplicity, offline-first usage, and real-world job hunting workflows.

If you’ve ever lost track of an interview or follow-up, this might help.
Feedback is welcome.
