Hi! My name is Stepan, nice to meet you! I am new here.

I was born in Ukraine and spent all my childhood on the coast of the Azov Sea. Later my parents decided to move, and I spent most of my life in a very beautiful and also very cold Siberia, in a city on the bank of the great Yenisei River called Krasnoyarsk (which means “beautiful cliff”). There I met almost all the people I still call my friends — guys, hello to you!

But my carefree childhood also came to an end. In Krasnoyarsk I finished school and then got my Master’s degree in “Computer Security” at Siberian Federal University.

Wonderful student years followed after childhood, and since I was not born in a rich family, it was time to start working :)
I started to develop web applications. Soon I understood that the frontend was not for me, so I focused on the backend. My main stack was PHP (Symfony) + MySQL, and later I expanded it with Docker, cloud, Kubernetes, ELK, and later also Go and Rust. I worked in several European startups.

Step by step I grew to the position of CTO/Tech Lead in a small company with 20 people under my lead. I manage development of mobile applications and their backends, build processes, interview people and do many other interesting things every day :)
And everything could be that simple, but 7 years ago, as a tourist in Prague, I decided to answer a few job offers. After 3 days I already left the office of my future company with an agreement about a contract. After a few months I had a one-way ticket — and so, without even noticing it, I started my slippery but interesting path as an emigrant :)

All my belongings at that moment fit into a suitcase, a backpack, a plastic card and 512 GB of my MacBook disk. A new life began, and it still continues to surprise me. Travel also looks very different now.
