My Phase-3 Experience

My honest opinion of Phase-3!
This was by far the worst phase, the lack of videos being the BIGGEST disappointment throughout this entire experience. We we're giving a few videos(that were in poor quality) on SQL which was something so easy to pick up and understand that should've been replaced with the harder topics such as OOP & using SQLAlchemy. Learning Python was my main reason for taking this program but yet I feel that Ive been robbed from that, I no longer see myself being the slightest bit of ready to even consider submitting a application for a backend job. I will continue on self studying to bridge the gaps in my learning but I really do hope that school fixes this part of the curriculum for future students.

The Imposter

As the weeks are going by I'm starting to question myself and wonder "How in the $%#@! did I even meet the requirements for this program". I feel as though I no longer belong here as I am struggling to grasp the new materials, and while there is tutoring, I find myself ready to kick the bucket when I attend because it gives me terrible anxiety sitting directly in front of the instructors by myself (I can feel them staring into my clueless soul lol)

JavaScript is a bully!

Week 2 of Phase-1
Its only been 2 weeks in the Fullstack curriculum and I can already tell that javascript will be the language I despise the most, so there goes my Fronted dev dreams I'll have no choice but to resign in the back lol.
Every time I get the hang of a new concept javascript shows me that I should read the fine print.
One of the biggest struggles I'm currently having is understanding "CallBack Functions", I can't even begin to explain which part of it is confusing to me because its literally all of it!
Im trying not to stress over since its only week 2 but after watching 30+ videos on the subject on youtube and still not being able to understand ANY of it is very depressing.
I know eventually I'll grasp the concept of it and I'll look back at this post and call myself an idiot lol, but until then I would like to file a restraining order on JAVASCRIPT!

Lets hit the road running!

Hello Everyone!

const myNameIs = `Vaschell McKenzie`

I'm excited to announce that I've recently started my coding journey with FlatIron coding bootcamp. Before I go into details about how my first few weeks in the program have been, I would like to give special thanks to Amazon Career Choice for funding this program and helping employees upscale to become qualified for other jobs within or outside of the company!

I would just like to start off by saying prior to me taking this program did have some knowledge of the basics since I was pursuing a Computer Science Degree, but I chose to do this bootcamp over the degree because...

The sake of time, it would've taken me 4yrs to get my degree.

I don't like taking classes that have absolutely nothing to do with what I'm studying.

Never the less even with my prior knowledge there are still things I don't know about programming and I feel this bootcamp can help me achieve my career goals.
