Yesterday, I had the opportunity to be part of organizing the very first Cafe Cursor Guayaquil event (Ecuador), and honestly, it completely exceeded my expectations.

Seeing so many people passionate about technology, software development, and artificial intelligence gathered together was truly incredible. But what impacted me the most was discovering how advanced many professionals already are in the way they use Cursor in their daily workflows.

People came from different cities such as Guayaquil, Milagro, Manta, and many other parts of the Ecuador country, all sharing one thing in common: the desire to learn, exchange experiences, and showcase how they are building software using agents, skills, automations, and AI-powered workflows inside Cursor.

One thing that genuinely surprised me was seeing that many people are no longer using these tools simply as “code autocomplete assistants,” but as true development companions capable of accelerating entire processes, generating architectures, automating repetitive tasks, documenting projects, refactoring complex codebases, and even helping with technical decision-making.

And the best part? Every single person had a completely different way of integrating AI into their workflow.

There were impressive demos where teams showed how they are building complete products in significantly less time while maintaining quality and improving productivity. Others demonstrated how they use custom agents and skills to transform complex tasks into much simpler and more efficient processes.

Honestly, there were moments when it felt like we were witnessing the future of software development happening live right in front of us.

But beyond the technology itself, what I value the most is the community. Being able to connect with developers, students, and professionals from different backgrounds in a relaxed, open, and collaborative environment was probably the best part of the event. People openly shared mistakes, lessons learned, ideas, challenges, and a huge amount of inspiration.

It was also incredibly motivating to see how companies are already seriously investing in these tools and how more professionals are realizing that learning how to work alongside AI is not just a passing trend, but a skill that will make a massive difference in the years ahead.

As one of the organizers, I leave this event feeling extremely grateful and happy for everyone who attended, participated, and contributed value. Events like this remind us that our community is full of talent, creativity, and people eager to build amazing things.

And if there was one thing this event made clear, it’s that we are entering a new era where software development is no longer just about writing code, but about learning how to collaborate intelligently with new tools to create true works of software art.

This is only the beginning 🚀

Thank you
