The problem

If you've ever worked on the firm side of tax season, you know the pain: clients drip-feed their W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, and brokerage statements over weeks. Half arrive as photos in email, the rest sit in Dropbox links nobody can find. Preparers spend hours just figuring out what's missing.

What we built

Secure client portal — clients upload tax documents through a branded portal instead of email attachments.
AI document recognition — uploads are auto-classified (W-2, 1099-NEC, 1099-DIV, K-1, brokerage statement, etc.) and the checklist updates itself.
Automated reminders — configurable email cadences nudge clients for what's still missing, so preparers stop being collection agents.
Engagement letters & e-signature — built into the same workflow.
Per-client binders — every document lives in one organized place that the preparer can hand off to the reviewer.

Stack

Standard modern stack: TypeScript across the board, React on the front, Node on the back, Postgres for data. The AI document classification uses a vision pipeline tuned on common US tax forms.

Solo CPAs and small-to-midsize firms (1–50 preparers) who want to stop losing hours to document chasing during the Jan–Apr crunch.
