Learn with me 5

Hey! fellow devs. I hope you are doing fine or maybe doing not so good, but I hope you are living. So after a long gap, I am writing the 5th part of the learn with me series. Today I will share my experience of learning how to Html and CSS. I will also tell you guys about the climactic end that I gave to my learning experience.

If you read my earlier blogs, you already know that I was a newbie and was trying to learn from the root. So to do that I gave enough time to my basics and developed the problem-solving instincts later in the learning curve. I at first followed a YouTuber of my origin and started learning from him. Followed his instructions very carefully and did what he did in his tutorials simultaneously. The beginning is always fun. You get to see new things and develop curiosity about the subject. But as time goes you start to lose interest in coding. While that is a huge problem, but there is always a solution. But discussing my solution I would love to point out the fact that if you are a developer you always face this problem or that's what the guys on the internet said. So you constantly need to find ways to deal with it. I guess that is a price you need to pay for becoming a developer. But don't get me wrong, there are times when coding is really fun. And that's why I am here and explaining it to you. So the thing that worked out for me was different communities. The developer communities is a blessing of the creator to all the beginners. It is such a great community that sometimes you feel like you are in a dream. You see if you have any problem you search for the solution in google and there are hundreds of post explaining what you should do and what you shouldn't. And even if that doesn't work for you I will recommend you sharing your journey in a community.

Now coming back to Html and CSS, I finished all the youtube videos from a playlist and went on to check other playlists to see if I was missing anything. I found out some scattered tags and properties that I should know and tried them for myself i.e. display-grid, display-flex, map tag, etc. Then I decided to do something that would be both a learning experience and climactic. So I decided to make a website by only Html and CSS.

        Osman Goni

        @osmang670

DAY:12:-Made my first local website with html and css only 2 days back.#100daysofcode Alhamdulillah. Now javascript time.

      10:24 AM - 08 Jul 2020

      1

I was finally making a website after starting my experience as a full-stack developer last month. Now I didn't have the money to buy a domain or host for my site so I had to work with local repositories. After starting to code I learned that if you are making a 5-page site, it's not just 5-page. There are a lot of pages that you need to make just for your website to look good. And the most important thing that I learned was a menu with a dropdown list is not fun at all. I had to work a few more extra hour just get it right. Well at the end I managed to give my website a skeleton and a body without organs. What do I mean by organs, well many of you already know that I am talking about javascript. So my next target is to learn javascript which may take some time. After finishing that I will post another blog in sha Allah. Until then good luck, stay happy, stay blessed.

A brief experience of coding for a week

Hey fellow seniors and coders!
How are you people doing?
I will start by saying what an amazing yet demotivating thing it is to learn developing sites. So some of you may have read my ongoing series where I said I will bring regular blogs. Which of course I didn't do. Let me tell you something, first of all, it's hard to write a blog man. It takes time. Time which is important for self-trainee such as me. Secondly, I failed even reach to 100 people by my blogs. As I have told before, I want a community of beginners working together so that they can grow to learn from each other. But seems like I am the only beginner here. Guys before saying anything else I would love to thank all the people who have helped without even knowing me not just in dev.to but in other platforms. What an amazing community I am a part of!

Now about that experience of mine, I started learning programming hoping to become a freelancer. My first language was Html which I kind of understand mostly. And it was easy, to be honest. I had some experience with Html beforehand so I did learn it quickly. But the language that comes next isn't easy to master quickly. This has to be the most interesting and super boring topic of my learning to develop journey. I guess many of you already guessed the language or the stylesheet whatever you like to call it. Yes, it's CSS. It's not so difficult to understand to be fair. But the designing and some unwanted commands may bring the beast inside you to roar. I felt it too many times and still feeling it. I haven't even been able to cover the basics yet. I try to give at least more than 5 hours a day. It takes time in understanding and imitating. But the harder it gets the intriguing it is. I may be a short-timer, but I am in love with developing. I get challenged in a new way every day by some small mistakes and codes, Which I really enjoy solving. Thanks for reading through all of this.

Let me know if you have any suggestion for me to get better at developing. If you liked it stay tuned to get more blogs like this. Anyway thanks to everybody for helping a newbie grow. Much respect.BYE.

Learn With Me 4

Hey developers. How are you feeling today? So this is the 3rd part of my
Learn with me
In my 2nd blog I said I would talk about CSS today. But thinking about it and reading the 2nd blog again I didn't saw any html topic to be discussed in my post.So I wanted to discuss html topics, what aspect of html you should care more about and also some tips to learn html.

Ok now,a quick overview on html.html isn’t vastly spread all over the place. It is a very small and sorted markup language. So its easy to read it all.Whoever is trying to master html should remember explicitly that html cannot do everything on its own.So he/she better be ready to learn the extension for doing anything with html. The extensions are not that hard to learn but its not that easy too. It's like the English language(For people who are not native English speaker)They have to learn it.Its not easy at first. But once you get hold of it,It's easy to get around or may be not.Because I have only been exposed to CSS.But it's fine I will let you people know about it once I cover all the extensions.

About the extensions I will list some of the important ones that I think is important:

css

java-script

bootstrap

Before moving on to the next topic I would love to tell you about this movement that was started sometime ago.And its a big movement for new coders. Its called the #100dayschallenge.So what happens is you basically code for 100 days consistently for at least an hour.I joined it yesterday. You can join it if you want.Just tweet once by saying I start the #100dayschallenge.Here is the tweet:

        Osman Goni

        @osmang670

      Starting from today✌.
#100DaysOfCode

      14:08 PM - 22 Jun 2020

      7

      6

Now about the topics you should give more attention.First of all there aren't many topics so its easy to remember all.But what happened with me is that I started css and now I keep forgetting some important things like combining a link from html. That is why you should learn how to link an url with any button or image or word and practice it.And other tags and small things are easy to remember or you can google it when you need. But you always need to remember the process how to make a form, table, link an image/word/button.Also learn about how to link an email in a form(so that the admin gets the message). That is something I forgot too.

Now about learning html.Actually you dont have to do much. You just have to be consistent enough to take all the demotivation in and kick it out.For getting materials just search in youtube learn html and filter it to playlist. You will see 100s of playlist. If you need written document I would suggest www.w3schools.com
So this is all about html that I learned and from where I learned.Hope it helps you guys.I will give a blog after I finish CSS.It will take some time.May be a week or more no idea.If I can,I will give another blog in the meanwhile.

Thanks for reading till the end

Hello everyone!
I hope all of you are doing fine.If you saw the title you already know that there is a 1st part to this series,as I like to call it.Well this is a continuation of the last post.So if you haven't checked it yet.Be sure to give it a try.

Now coming back to the main topic. As I said before,I am going to cover my journey from being a beginner to a professional coder. And if you have read the 1st post then you know that I started my journey last week. That is why I am posting a second post in the same day,to let you people know, What I did in the last week. And if anybody is interested we may discuss as well about the topic

So the topic was html.I finished most of html.Mind it,I said html. There are other extension which I am currently studying and learning e.g.CSS,Java-script and others. So why html?why not any other language?.To be honest,I didn’t think of that in that way before.I was just following an youtuber's playlist and he uploaded html first. That is why I begun with html.I am glad that he did that.Because my intuition are telling me this is the right way to start.

So then how did I learn it?how much did I finish? What's my current skill level!I would say I finished most of the html.I started by watching youtube videos. Then went onto practice the thing that I see in video in real time and I pretty much remember most of it.My skill level?I would say it’s somewhere between 80-90% considering only html.I know most of the tags and attributes, and if I forget any I know what to search and what to take from the results.

How was my experience learning html?.See,I am a beginner so as of yet I don't have a vast knowledge. But from what I have seen html is comparatively short and easy to learn compare to other languages which takes weeks to even digest. So if anybody wants to start coding,I would highly recommend start with html then move onto css,java-script and other languages.

What are my weaknesses in html?
Well,I dont have any weaknesses I guess. But I was unable to use iframe properly. That's one thing I always wanted to get right. But there seems to be no right materials for the problem I have been facing with this tag.

So this is it.This is an overview of the knowledge I gathered from html. What I learned I am ready to share with anyone who is interested. Please let me know if you would like to discuss.

This is a post for the people who are new and trying to learn codes

So my name is Osman Goni.I am a wannabe freelancer. Its has been already around a week since I started to learn.I will start telling from first to not make you out of the place with my story.

I wanted to be a freelancer recently. So obviously I downloaded upwork, fiverr and freelancer and started bidding on projects about web developing and anything that I thought I can do without having zero experience and in some cases zero knowledge about doing this sort of work.Every time I bid, I thought this is the moment when I am going to be glorified with my first job. Then I kept on bidding and bidding and bidding. Finally gave up.

I did the same things several time before also. But this time it was different.I was determined this time. After researching and watching some videos online,I understood its not that easy to be a web developer in the freelancing sector. Then I started studying. Now I was introduced to front-end and back-end web development. And I was interested genuinely. Now I am learning.

Now you may think,Why do you guys need to know all of this about me and my failures.Because I want to create a community.A community of people who are new and have very low idea about what coding really is.So if you are new and if you have no background of coding whatsoever. Then let's start together.

Basically,I will cover my journey by giving posts regularly or a day after another. And everyone who wants to learn and talk code can discuss.Consequently we will all grow together and help each other to grow.

Make sure you stay updated with my posts.
