You’ve just posted something brilliant. It flops.
Meanwhile, someone’s dancing with Comic Sans floating across the screen — and they go viral.
Why does it always feel like depth loses to drama?

Most creators wrongly believe they need virality to become a respected name. They take the fast and easy path to becoming an authority in their niche. On the other hand, successful creators focus on building trust, staying consistent, and creating strategic organic content.

Everybody wants their 15s of fame without realizing the great potential is wasted.

 🔍 The Myth of Virality

The concept of going viral is the best strategy and might be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, lies of our generation. Period.

First of all, it is not natural. If you were a new creator, how would you feel if one day you had to talk in front of 3000 people when your channel only has 20 subscribers? It would be too much, right? By constantly chasing trends, people can’t tell what your brand actually stands for:

What’s your niche?

You are not serious.

You can’t formulate your own analysis and opinions.

Second, it might get you a lot of followers. You can one day go from 100 to 3k subs. However, if you’re a serious creator, you might get new subscribers interested in the trend and not the content you create. You can get the right people to watch your content, but also get a ton of random new uninterested followers.

Who will rapidly forget about you and won’t ever interact with your content as much as you would like.

Are you making content to position yourself as an authority in your niche?

Tell me in the comments how you’re building authority right now.

Or better yet — if you’re serious about standing out with premium content that builds trust and converts, book a call with me to learn how we can work together to help you stand above the noise and generic content created by AI.

Let’s make your voice impossible to ignore. 🚀

 🧱 Authority vs Visibility

These two concepts are often confused in the world of content creation, but they lead to very different outcomes.

Visibility is about Eyeballs on you. It’s about how many people see your content. It’s the reach, impressions, virality — all the surface-level metrics. It is posting a piece of content and getting 100K+ views with thousands of likes and comments. But, do people remember you next week? Probably not.

Visibility is like a flashlight in the dark — bright but temporary.

Authority is about Trust. It is when people trust you deeply in a specific niche.

You consistently talk about one focused thing (e.g., indie game dev, AI writing, digital minimalism). People begin to see you as “the go-to” for that thing. Your content might not always go viral, but it creates impact and loyalty. You solve people’s problems, address their pain points, and position yourself as someone who deeply understands their day-to-day struggles and desires.

You build trust by sharing your expertise consistently with your target audience.

✨ Join a community of creators & thinkers leveling up every week.

🆓 Free Subscribers Get:

🎯 1–2 Action-Packed Posts/Week — Every Wednesday, get clear, proven strategies to grow, monetize, and think smarter.

✍️ Insights You Can Apply Instantly — No fluff. Just ideas you’ll want to take action on today.

🔥 Paid Subscribers Unlock:

🚀 Grow Without the Algorithm — Discover how top creators are building loyal audiences outside of social media.

📚 Real-World Case Studies — Get inspired by success stories, breakdowns, and the trends shaping the creator economy.

💰 Monetization Without Selling Out — Learn how to earn your way, without ads or platforms owning your work.

→ Your voice is your asset. Let’s build a world where you own your message and your income.

Hobby vs Career: The Unseen Challenges of Becoming a Full-Time Game Developer

When I was 22 years old, I started learning about Game Development.

At first, I thought making games would be easy, but I quickly realized how wrong I was.

Honestly, the whole thing was really challenging — mentally and emotionally. First I learned basic programming topics, 2D Art, and Unity (way before the dark times).

Sadly after a few tries I quit for months because, like most women in their 30s, I hit the wall and went back to keep playing games instead.

2 years later, I just finished university — one of the best and most amazing periods of my life. But the journey was tough.

If you enjoyed this and want more, follow me on Twitter for updates! You can also subscribe to my newsletter for exclusive content. Your support keeps the creativity flowing! 😊

As a full-time Web engineer since 2021, I have always loved creating and building games with new amazing effects and stories. With every game finished, there always was a deep sense of satisfaction that came from seeing these projects completed and sharing them with others. But like any career, there are aspects I enjoy less. One day I decided to treat my hobby as a full-time job, after a month, I quickly learned that there’s a massive difference between a hobby and a professional way.

For example, there’s a lot of pressure from a business perspective like the stress of launching a game in time, the necessity to generate revenue, and marketing-can make full-time game development feel overwhelming.

Lesson 1: The Pressure of Full-time Game Development
One of the significant downsides of doing game development professionally is the stress.

On one hand, the game has to make money, as it’s the primary way to pay your bills. For instance, I’ve been working on a more modern space invaders clone for a friend as a challenge, a game that has been developing for almost a year. The longer development cycle has added pressure, as the game’s success will directly impact my livelihood.

Each day of development carries the weight of financial consequences, which can create immense stress.

By the order, when I work on a project as a hobby, the story is widely different. I can relax, knowing that there is no financial obligation tied to its success. There’s no rush, no pressure from clients or publishers, and no need to turn in daily progress.

If I don’t feel like I need to be working on it one day, I can simply enjoy more flexibility and leave it for another time without any serious consequences.

Lesson 2: Flexibility and Time Management
Full-time game development requires great discipline and good time management skills.

Each day you must be productive because wasted time equals wasted money and without money, you can’t live. On the other hand, when game development is a hobby, there is much more freedom and flexibility. I usually work on the weekends with my hobby game on a lazy Sunday afternoon or after dinner while watching YouTube.

The work is done in short, unfocused bursts, without the pressure of a deadline looming over my head-its very, very relaxing.

This chill approach allows me to be less strict with myself and enjoy the process a little bit more.

When working on the Space Invaders Clone, I have to be highly focused. However, with my hobby project, I can pick it up whenever inspiration strikes without feeling guilty about taking breaks.

It’s a good strategy to freely experiment with small and new ideas without much trouble.

Lesson 3: Small, Bite-sized Tasks
Another key difference is the way tasks should be approached.

For my hobby game, I work on small, manageable features that can be completed in a reasonable amount of time. This allows me to feel a sense of accomplishment without dedicating days or even weeks. On the contrary, full-time projects require working on larger, more complex systems that often take a lot of time to complete.

With hobby development, I can focus on small upgrades, enjoy the process, and still feel like I’m moving forward without burnout by trying to make everything perfect.

Lesson 4: The Reality of Perfectionism and Burnout
One of the biggest challenges in full-time game development is battling perfectionism.

When your livelihood depends on a project, the pressure to make every feature flawless can lead to overworking and eventual burnout. Unlike hobby projects, where you can afford to relax and experiment, professional game development often demands perfection — at least, that’s the perception.

I used to obsess over every small detail, tweaking my code and designs endlessly, trying to ensure everything was perfect. But over time, I learned that “perfect” is often the enemy of “good enough.” It’s essential to strike a balance between quality and progress, especially when deadlines loom.

Without proper balance, you can end up focusing too much on minor improvements that can stop progress, increase stress, and even lead to burnout.

Lesson 5: Balancing Both Worlds
While I love making games, there’s a lot to be said for keeping it as a hobby.

If you are thinking of making the jump to full-time, get yourself ready for the business pressures and financial responsibilities that come with it. However, if you love game development purely for the craft, keeping it as a hobby might offer you more joy and less stress.

A good balance that in the future might turn into opportunities to go full time.

In the end, the decision depends on what’re your goals.

Do you want to create games for fun? A
Are you ready to face the challenges of making a living from it?
Either way, game development is an incredibly fulfilling pursuit, whether it’s a full-time job or just a hobby.

What are your thoughts?

Do you develop games as a hobby, or have you turned it into your career? Share your experiences in the comments!

If you enjoy my content and want to support my work, consider leaving a tip!
Blender conversion Mastery: My 3-step framework to transform amateurs into full professional 3D Artists

Before I discovered this framework, I was like many 3D newbies—overwhelmed by the complexity of Blender and 3D art.

I would spend hours watching tutorials and trying to replicate complex workflows, only to end up frustrated and feeling stuck as an amateur. Then, I realized I needed a structured approach to make sense of everything, and that’s when I developed this 3-step framework.

Today, I can proudly say that I was able to leave tutorial hell, learn and apply the fundamentals, and develop healthy habits.

Here’s my step-by-step guide to getting started with Blender Conversion Mastery:

Step 1: Master the Basics Before Anything Else

Start with the fundamentals—basic modeling, lighting, and rendering.

The end here is to gain an intuitive feel for Blender's interface and basic tools. Just remember that you don’t need to master everything at once.

Instead, focus on learning the essential skills needed to create simple models, textures, and renders.

Step 2: Develop a Specialized Skill Set

Once you've grasped the basics, you can choose one specific area of 3D.

You can learn character modeling, environmental design, or animation. Focusing on one area will help you refine your skills in that specific domain-enabling you to produce high-quality work faster. However, specialization can limit your growth-just keep in mind that you can always expand into other areas to keep building your skill set.

But without having to become an expert in absolutely everything.

 Step 3: Integrate Professional Techniques

Finally, try to incorporate professional workflows into your practice.

This includes using special techniques and tips, from free or paid resources; networking with professionals, joining communities, joining 3D competitions, and keep asking questions.

Professionalism comes from attention to detail; you’ll need to adopt these high-level skills to compete at the top.

Implement this in your life and I guarantee you will see fantastic results (just like me).

The WORST beliefs that will ruin your life

We’ve been programmed to live to work instead of working to live — slowly killing our dreams, creativity, and replacing all with blind obedience.

Many people truly believe they don’t have any skills, are weak, or won’t be able to become someone amazing. On the opposite end, some look down on people who work hard, like artists or devs, thinking everything they do is too easy and that their prices are a huge scam because of AI, of course…

We have the ability to change, experiment, and grow through iteration.

To help you on your journey to self-discovery, I want to share with you 3 of the MOST dangerous beliefs that could ruin your life:

The more hours I work the more productive I’ll get Success doesn’t require burnout

Success doesn't require burnout.

This idea that that lead to overwork and causes huge stress and aneraxity its dangerous because it destroys creativity and focus. A lot of this comes from the necessity to achieve quick and easy success, bad time management skills and the lack of vision and dicipline. Working hard is great when you're trying new things.

Once you've a pull of information you can start working smarter, because you know what works and what doesn't.

I can’t learn anything because is too hard and too much

When people try to learn a new skill, they often attempt to replicate what professionals with years of experience can do in less time.

By doing this, many people quickly burn out due to the fact that, in many cases, simple projects meant to teach the fundamentals are ignored because they're considered "too easy." Sadly, if a quick tutorial doesn't make you rich and famous fast, the skill is deemed worthless.

When you learn a new skill, it may be hard at first, especially if you're focusing on the fundamentals. But by completing 1,000 small projects, you'll learn more than from tackling one huge mega project.

I’m superior to anyone and I don’t need help or a community

Our ego can be extremely dangerous because it can lock us into a limited way of thinking, preventing us from seeing other perspectives.

Many people believe they can succeed entirely on their own, thinking that asking for help or being part of a community is a sign of weakness. This mindset often stems from a desire for independence or past experiences where self-reliance was necessary.

Accepting help doesn't diminish your value; it amplifies your strengths by leveraging others' knowledge.

Our mind can be the greatest ally or the greatest Lier...

As you progress in your journey you should avoid these 3 harmful beliefs that many software developers hold, which can ultimately destroy their careers.

By understanding and avoiding these beliefs, you can accelerate your career, improve your skills, and enjoy a more fulfilling professional journey.

Belief #1: I need to learn every programming language to succeed

This belief can lead to overwhelm and burnout, as it's impossible to master everything.

As a newbie, a junior developer, ten to try to learn multiple different languages at once, and as a result, struggle to become proficient in any of them. In contrast, juniors choose to master just one language deeply, which led to landing a real and stable growth.

Newbies must focus on core languages relevant to the field of choice to yield better results.

Belief #2: Working long hours means I'm more productive

While it might seem like a sign of great dedication, overworking often leads to burnout, decrease in productivity, and even health issues.

As a junior I used to work 12-hour days, 7 days per week, and I saw my performance decline over time; however, if I maintained a balanced schedule from the beginning, I could stayed sharp and consistently delivered high-quality work without burnout.

Remember that is always better to work smarter not harder.

Belief #3: I don't need to network; my skills will speak for themselves

Ignoring networking opportunities can limit your career growth. Skills matter, but relationships open doors and create new opportunities.

A lot of developers don't like to deal with people, like unironically they deal with clients a lot-well at least some of them. They prefer to stay isolated and because of that missed many job opportunities.

I hope this helps you recognize and avoid these harmful beliefs in your career journey. Embrace growth, focus on what's essential, and build meaningful connections.

Wishing you the best on your path to success!

A few weeks ago, I asked 12 Indie Game Developers one simple question:

“What early career mistake will you never make again?”

Procrastination, poor planning, and rushing projects are some of the most dangerous mistakes any indie developer can make.

That’s why I decided to ask several indie dev friends, ranging from newbies to more experienced professionals, about their greatest mistakes. What I ended up with was a messy notepad full of notes. After completing this interesting experiment, I unlocked a completely new perspective.

I discovered five profound mistakes every developer should avoid in their indie game development career if they want to succeed.

Let’s dive in:

Mistake #1: Overloading Your Game with Features

We’re often very excited to start a new game or project.

With great passion and fantastic ideas, it’s easy to get carried away by adding an endless number of amazing and unique features.

However, overloading your game can lead to scope creep, making the project unmanageable, unsustainable, and unfinished.

“Focus is about saying no.” — Steve Jobs.

To this day, I hang this quote up on my desk because it reminds me that prioritizing core features allows me to deliver a polished, complete game.

Mistake #2: Skipping the Planning Phase

A lot of indie developers, especially newbies, dive straight into development.

Jumping into a project without a solid plan is like setting out on a journey that could jeopardize your mental health. Even if the planning phase seems tedious, you can’t progress effectively without clear goals and a straightforward roadmap.

No one should code in a void of chaos. With proper organization, game development can be one of the most enjoyable experiences of your life.

“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” — Benjamin Franklin.

This quote reminds me that thorough planning at the start can save a lot of time and trouble later on.

Mistake #3: Ignoring Playtesting Early On

Sometimes we finish a game and rush to publish it on our platform of choice because of the excitement of the moment or because we’re eager to start earning revenue.

However, playtesting is a crucial step to understand how players interact with your game. Many developers make the mistake of waiting until the end to gather feedback, which can lead to major revisions and wasted effort.

Players may struggle, get frustrated by bugs or lack of optimization, and eventually leave the game out of irritation.

“Feedback is the breakfast of champions.” — Ken Blanchard.
I keep this quote at hand to remind me to seek and act on feedback early, which helps me refine and improve my game iteratively.

Mistake #4: Failing to Prioritize Development Tasks

Traditional wisdom says you should “finish what you start.”

But that’s only true if you do two things correctly:

Identify high-impact tasks: Focus on tasks that drive the core mechanics and overall experience of the game.

Manage your resources wisely: Allocate time and effort to tasks that align with your game’s vision and goals.
Then, “finish what you start” works great. It’s about finishing the right parts of the game, not everything.

You might also like:

3 Things I Discovered Writing Online Every Day For 30 Days In A Row

30 days ago, I signed up for Dickie Bush & Nicolas Cole's cohort-based course, Ship 30 for 30.

In that time, I wrote & published 30 Atomic Essays, learned the fundamentals of Digital Writing, made friends, and started gaining clarity over what my niche might be. It has been a very rewarding (and challenging) journey, and I am more excited than ever to keep writing online.

Here are the 3 biggest things writing & publishing consistently every day for 30 days taught me:

 1. Writing is a skill booster

For years, my ability to express myself, articulate my words, and organize my thoughts was lost, gradually diminishing to the point where my creativity died with it.

Computer Science helped me rebuild my logical thinking, and the "Ship 30 for 30" challenge helped me recover many of my lost skills. Now, I can express myself better, my mind is at peace, my thoughts are in order, and my passion for writing has been reignited. This course not only helped me develop a habit of writing online and learn the fundamentals, but it also taught me about persuasion, psychology, and marketing.

It freed my mind from toxic beliefs that weren't even mine.

 2. Everything starts with writing

Rushing an idea without any planning or organization is a recipe for disaster.

Through the power of writing, ideas can not only be tested but also explored in depth, using multiple formats, styles, and structures.

Approaching work in this way can make the success of a project almost undeniable.

 3. We were program to be poor, deposable and remplazable

We are social, creative, and curious creatures capable of great things. From a very young age, we're told to act and think in a certain way.

We go to school to learn skills without even knowing why, and we are taught not to believe in our ideas, convinced that achieving our dreams is too hard or even impossible.
Invest in yourself. Free your mind from beliefs that aren't truly yours!

If you have been thinking about getting started writing online too, let me know. I'm happy to share more about the experience and what I learned.

1 Bad Habit I Used To Have When I First Started Learning Web Dev—And How I Broke It

Most devs got straight to tutorial hell and never come back.

When I started learning Web Development, I did like many aspiring developers do. I follow a tutorial to learn a tool, then another, then another and another without any purpose, mission or achievable goal. I learned a lot of things for the sake of learning-which isn’t a bad thing if the goal is to explore and try things unless you blindly follow tutorials and don’t practice anything.

Theorical knowledge will never lead you to anything good.

I used to jump between tutorials and resources without actually building anything-I had been doing this for years.

Rock bottom for me was when I realized that, despite consuming countless hours of content, I couldn’t build even a basic project from scratch. I was frustrated, overwhelmed, and lacking confidence-It was terrible.

How did I break this bad habit?

I decided to adopt a "learn by doing" approach and focus on small, manageable projects where I could immediately apply what I was learning.

Everything changed as soon as I committed to building something for every concept I learned.

And honestly, I saw almost immediate results.

I became more confident in my coding skills.

I built a portfolio of small projects that showcased my progress.

I started understanding how different pieces of web development fit together.

I gained the momentum to keep learning and improving.

So, if you find yourself jumping between tutorials without actually building anything, I encourage you to learn from my mistakes.

And start building small projects with every new concept you learn.

I love learning about Blender.

But only with the right YouTube channels.

(A lot of tutorials are a waste of time, unfortunately.)

If you are at all interested in learning Blender, here are the 3 YouTube channels that worth your time:

A Question I’ve Been Asking Myself Lately (And Why)

I spend a lot of my time thinking about networking.

But lately, one question I’ve been asking myself is this:

Why is so hard to make connections with new people as an adult?
For a few reasons:

 Reason #1: Busy Schedules

As adults, many people have demanding jobs, family responsibilities, and other commitments that leave little time for socializing. This can make it challenging to find opportunities to meet new people or invest in new relationships.

 Reason #2: Established Social Circles

Adults often have established social circles and friendships. These long-standing relationships can sometimes create barriers to forming new connections, as people may be less inclined to expand their social networks when they already have a solid group of friends.

Reason #3: Increased Self-Awareness and Caution

With age comes greater self-awareness and a more developed sense of what one values in relationships. Adults might be more cautious and selective about who they connect with, making it harder to establish new relationships, especially if they are looking for deeper, more meaningful connections.

To wrestle with this question, a few things I am doing are:

Thing 1: Expanding My Social Circles

I’m actively seeking out new social opportunities by joining communities, attending events, or participating in activities related to my interests. This helps me meet people who share similar passions and can lead to new connections.

 Thing 2: Practicing Open Communication

I’m focusing on improving my communication skills and being more open in conversations. This includes actively listening, showing genuine interest in others, and being willing to share about myself, which can help build stronger connections.

 Thing 3: Setting Realistic Goals

I’m setting manageable goals for networking and building relationships, such as reaching out to one new person each week or attending one networking event each month. This approach helps me stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed.

But I think it’ll be a while before I come to any sort of solid conclusion.

(And if you have a clear answer to this question, I’d love to hear from you.)

Mistakes I Made Early In My Career — And What I Would Have Done Differently

I have been working in tech industry for 5 years.

And in that time, I’ve gotten to do a lot of cool things:

Master many technologies.

3D models.

Complex Back-end systems

Ecommerce apps

There isn’t much I would change about my journey.

But if I could go back, here are a few of the mistakes I made early on — and what I would have done differently:

 1. Find a mentor

One of my biggest mistakes was not seeking a mentor early in my career. I underestimated the value of having someone experienced to guide me, provide clear feedback, and help me navigate the complexities of the colosal tech world. If I could go back in time, I would actively look for a mentor, attend join and be active in communities, and build relationships with experienced professionals who could help me grow faster.

 2. Focus on a couple of technologies to master

At the beginning of my career, I was eager to learn everything at once-because my ego was that big. I spread myself too thin by trying to master every technology that came my way. This approach led to burnout and a lack of deep expertise. Instead, I would have chosen a couple of key technologies to focus on and develop a solid foundation. This would have allowed me to build expertise and become more valuable in those areas.

 3. Try a lot of things but one at the time

I jumped from one project to another without fully understanding each one. This scattergun approach limited my ability to learn effectively. I would have taken the time to explore different areas, but with a disciplined focus on one at a time, allowing me to gain deeper insights and skills before moving on to the next challenge.

The Greatest Lesson Life Taught Me—One I'll Never Forget

When I was 21yrs old, life thought me a valuable lesson that I'll never forget:

 Nobody cares about you

Here's why:

One of the most significant lessons life has taught me is this: nobody cares about you. It sounds harsh, even cruel, but understanding this reality can be incredibly empowering.

From a young age, we're often led to believe that others are deeply invested in our successes, failures, and every detail of our lives. We seek validation, approval, and sympathy from those around us, expecting them to care as much as we do. But the truth is, most people are preoccupied with their own lives, struggles, and ambitions-that doesn't have anything to do with us.

They’re too caught up in their own worlds to pay, to even care, more than a fleeting moment’s attention to yours.

Realizing that nobody truly cares about you can feel extremely painful and lonely at first, but it’s a liberation in disguise because it frees you from the burden of trying to please everyone or conform to others' expectations-allowing you to break your own chains.

When you understand that others aren't constantly judging your every move, every thought or every dream, you gain the freedom to focus on what truly matters: your own goals, passions, and personal growth-a happy and peaceful freedom.

This lesson also teaches us resilience. When you stop expecting others to carry you through life’s challenges, you start relying on your own strength, your own power. You my friend become your own motivator, your own critic, and your own source of encouragement-the only person that gives a fuck about you. This shift in perspective helps you to focus and build self-confidence-developing the ability to navigate life’s ups and downs independently.

Ultimately, the lesson that nobody cares about you is a reminder that you are responsible for your own happiness and success. It’s not about being cynical or dismissive of relationships; rather, it’s about understanding that the only person who will always be there for you (apart from God), who will always care, is yourself. Embrace this truth, and you’ll find a new level of peace and empowerment in your life.

At the time, learning this lesson was hard—of course.

But in hindsight, I am so grateful. Reclaim your soul!

I attribute a lot of who I am today to that one moment.
