Why I’m Not Building MYQER With AI or As an App

We are in a moment where every product is expected to be an app.
And every app is expected to be powered by AI.

More features.
More data.
More intelligence.

That’s the default path.

I chose a different one.

The assumption

In tech today, the thinking is simple
If you want to solve a problem, you build an app
If you want to scale it, you add AI

But that assumption breaks in one very specific context

Emergency

The reality of emergencies

In an emergency, none of the usual rules apply

The person may not be conscious
They may not have their phone
They may not be able to unlock anything
There may be no signal
There is no time to navigate interfaces

And most importantly
The person in need cannot explain themselves

So I asked a different question

What if the system did not depend on them at all

Why not an app

Apps assume ownership

They assume the user is present
They assume interaction
They assume time

In emergency situations, all three fail

So MYQER is not an app
It does not require login
It does not require installation
It does not require the individual to do anything in the moment

It exists outside the device

It is carried, printed, worn, visible

Accessible by anyone, instantly

Why not AI led

AI is powerful when there is time to interpret

Emergency response is not about interpretation
It is about clarity

AI introduces layers
Inference
Uncertainty
Latency

In a moment where seconds matter, that is the wrong trade off

MYQER does not guess
It does not analyse
It does not predict

It shows

Only what is critical
Only what is needed
Exactly when it matters

The parallel path

While most products move toward
More data
More intelligence
More features

MYQER moves toward

Less friction
Less dependency
Less noise

It is not trying to be smarter

It is trying to be available

The real design constraint

MYQER was designed around a simple but unforgiving constraint

A child
Too young to carry a phone
Too young to explain
Completely dependent on the environment around her

That changes everything

It forces you to remove assumptions
To remove complexity
To remove reliance on systems that may not exist in the moment

Final thought

Technology often solves problems by adding layers

Sometimes the real solution is removing them

Not everything needs AI
Not everything needs an app

Some problems need something simpler

Something that works when nothing else does

We came a long way building MYQER™

“What happens when someone collapses… and no one knows anything about them?”

No app.
No login.
No time.

Just people trying to help… without the information they need.

We’ve come a long way since that moment.

Today, MYQER™ does something very simple but very powerful:

👉 It gives first responders and bystanders instant access to critical information
👉 In seconds
👉 Without needing to unlock a phone
👉 Without needing to know the person

When someone is on the floor, unconscious, or unable to speak…

You don’t need their identity.
You don’t need their full medical history.

You just need to know:
• Are they allergic to anything?
• Are they diabetic?
• Do they carry emergency medication?
• Who do we call?

MYQER™ is built for that exact moment.

Scan → See → Act.

We’ve focused on something important:

🔒 Controlled, read-only emergency access
🧠 Only the information that actually helps in the moment
🚫 No identity exposure
🚫 No unnecessary data
🚫 Not a medical device or diagnosis tool

And it works:
• Online when there’s signal
• Offline when there isn’t
• Across languages
• Across environments like schools, workplaces, everyday life.

Right now, we’re piloting MYQER across:

🏫 Education
🏗️ Workforce

Because emergencies don’t wait for systems.
And information shouldn’t either.

This isn’t just a product.

It’s a shift in how we think about access to information in emergencies.

And honestly… we’re just getting started.

“No One Should Be Unknown in an Emergency” The Story Behind MYQER

An interview on building a system where critical information is seen, understood, and acted on in seconds.

Q: What is MYQER, in simple terms?

MYQER is a simple but powerful idea.

A physical card.
Two QR codes.
One works online. One works offline.

Anyone can scan it and instantly see what matters.
Allergies. Conditions. What to do. Who to call.

No apps.
No logins.
No unlocking a phone.

Just clarity, in seconds.

Q: Why was it created?

It started with a moment no parent ever forgets.

A two year old.
An allergic reaction.
And the realisation that in those critical seconds, information was not where it needed to be.

There are tools that exist. Apple. Google. Medical IDs.
But they depend on access. On someone knowing where to look. On a device being available.

In an emergency, that is often too many steps.

MYQER was created to remove those steps completely.

To make vital information visible, immediate, and impossible to miss.

Q: What makes MYQER different from existing solutions?

Most systems are built around devices.

MYQER is built around people.

It sits with the individual, not inside a phone.
It can be worn, carried, printed, displayed.

It works globally, in over twenty languages, with automatic language detection based on the person scanning.

Because in an emergency, language should never be a barrier.

And importantly, it works even when there is no signal.

That combination changes everything.

Q: There is a strong focus on simplicity. Was that intentional?

Completely.

In an emergency, complexity fails.

No one has time to navigate apps, remember passwords, or search through settings.

The design principle was simple:
Scan → See → Act.

Every decision, every feature, every line of information follows that.

Q: How does MYQER fit into wider systems like healthcare or education?

There is a growing need for accessible, immediate information across environments.

In schools, teachers are responsible for children with a wide range of health needs.
In workplaces, duty of care is becoming more visible and accountable.
In public spaces, first responders and bystanders are often the first point of help.

MYQER supports all of these without adding complexity.

It aligns with safeguarding.
It supports duty of care.
It empowers everyday people to act with confidence.

Q: It has been described as “tech for good.” Do you see it that way?

It is not just technology.

It is reassurance.

What started as a way to protect one child is now being used by people across different needs, ages, and situations.

Families.
Children.
Individuals with allergies, conditions, or simply a desire to be known if something happens.

It is free for everyday use, because access should not be a barrier to safety.

Q: What does success look like for MYQER?

Success is simple.

Fewer moments where someone is unknown.
Faster responses when it matters most.
More people feeling seen, even when they cannot speak.

Because no child, no adult, no person should ever be reduced to a guess in an emergency.

And no one should rely on luck when information can be known.

Q: If someone reading this takes one thing away, what should it be?

Emergencies are unpredictable.

But being known does not have to be.

When “I feel unwell” becomes life threatening.

Hi 👋

I’m currently building something called MYQER, but this isn’t really about the product.

It’s about a problem I can’t unsee.

In many emergency cases, especially in schools or workplaces, the first signal is vague.

“I feel unwell”
“My tummy hurts”
“I feel strange”

And in that moment, there’s a pause.

Not because people don’t care
but because they don’t know

What looks minor can escalate quickly
especially with conditions like severe allergies

And the reality is
information exists
but it’s not accessible in that moment

Locked in systems
on phones
behind logins
or simply not where it needs to be.
That led me to build something called MYQER

A very simple setup:
• a physical card
• two QR codes
• one for online access
• one that works offline

The goal is simple
make important information visible, fast, and usable by anyone nearby.
