QA Tester walks into a bar:

He orders a beer.
He orders 3 beers.
He orders 2976412836 beers.
He orders 0 beers.
He orders -1 beer.
He orders q beers.
He orders nothing.
Él ordena una cerveza.
Il commande une bière.
He orders a deer.
He tries to leave without paying.
He starts ordering a beer, then throws himself through the window half way through.
He orders a beer, gets his receipt, then tries to go back.
He orders a beer, goes to the door of the bar, throws a handful of cookies into the street, then goes back to the bar to see if the barmaid still recognizes him.
He orders a beer, and watches very carefully while the barmaid puts his order into the till to make sure nothing in his request got lost along the way.
He starts ordering a beer, and tries to talk the barmaid into handing over her personal details.
He orders a beer, sneaks into the back, turns off the power to the till, and waits to see how the barmaid reacts, and what she says to him.
He orders a beer while calling in thousands of robots to order a beer at exactly the same time.

A young Programmer and his Project Manager ...

A young Programmer and his Project Manager board a train headed through the mountains on its way to Wichita. They can find no place to sit except for two seats right across the aisle from a young woman and her grandmother. After a while, it is obvious that the young woman and the young programmer are interested in each other, because they are giving each other looks. Soon the train passes into a tunnel and it is pitch black. There is a sound of a kiss followed by the sound of a slap.

When the train emerges from the tunnel, the four sit there without saying a word. The grandmother is thinking to herself, “It was very brash for that young man to kiss my granddaughter, but I’m glad she slapped him.”

The Project manager is sitting there thinking, “I didn’t know the young tech was brave enough to kiss the girl, but I sure wish she hadn’t missed him when she slapped me!”

The young woman was sitting and thinking, “I’m glad the guy kissed me, but I wish my grandmother had not slapped him!”

The young programmer sat there with a satisfied smile on his face. He thought to himself, “Life is good. How often does a guy have the chance to kiss a beautiful girl and slap his Project manager all at the same time!”

Digital Citizenship Pillers

A digital citizen refers to a person utilizing information technology (IT) in order to engage in society, politics, and government.

Any successful Digital Citizenship and Engagement initiative should focus on these FIVE pillers:

EMPOWER CITIZENS IN THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS - Provide visibility and transparency and empower citizens in the decision-making process on key local governments priorities. Not will it only make citizens feel involved but trusted, leading to a positive partnership.

DESIGN EASY-TO-USE PLATFORMS FOR INNOVATION AND ENGAGEMENT - Digital Interaction between local authorities and citizens must be intuitive. Platforms must be designed to enable more agile and responsive ways, with a greater understanding of citizens' wants and needs.

DEVELOP A COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY - Communication is key and for it to truly work, authorities must create a comprehensive and targeted communications strategy, making use of all available platform like website, email, social media, advertisements & door visits.

GAMIFY AND PROVIDE INCENTIVES - A recognition and rewards will go along way. A program based on giving tangible gifts such as discount on service like council tax, is a great starting point. Also, employees should be rewarded for driving adoption of any initiative.

ALLOCATE SUFFICIENT RESOURCES AND SUCCESS METRICS - Any initiative must have a set of identifiable goals, objectives and measurements, to help track citizen engagement, monitor changes and allocate proper resources.

A company manager is flying across the desert in a hot air balloon when he realises he is lost. He calls down to a man riding a camel below him and asks where he is.

The man replies, “You’re 42 degrees and 12 minutes, 21.2 seconds north, 122 degrees, 10 minutes west, 212 meters above sea level, heading due east by north east.”

“Thanks,” replies the balloonist. “By the way, are you a data scientist?”

“Yes,” replies the man, “how did you know?”

“Everything you told me was totally accurate, you gave me way more information than I needed and I still have no idea what I need to do.”

“I’m sorry,” replied the camel-riding data scientist. “By the way, are you a company manager?”

“Yes,” said the balloonist, “how did you know?”

“Well,” replied the scientist, “You’ve got no idea where you are, no idea what direction you’re heading in, you got yourself into this fix by blowing a load of hot air, and now you expect me to get you out of it.”
