Recently in Sydney, Kheang Ly, who’s the CEO of OWNA, spoke about the tech founder’s journey. Tom Hollander, a MongoDB lead product manager, demonstrated the relational migrator. Many thanks to our event leaders, Wan Bachtiar and Markus Thielsch, for making it all happen.

Over in London, Svitlana Gavrylova from Google Cloud joined our MUG to discuss how MongoDB and Google Cloud collaborate to create even better solutions for your next big project. Thomas Chamberlain from DWP discussed the process of creating a job search engine microservice.

And MongoDB’s own Sam Brown demoed data localization in MongoDB, which is a crucial aspect of data management in today’s business landscape. Sam discussed how you can scale MongoDB globally and still provide localized access for either performance or data residency concerns. Great effort by our MUG leader, Sani Yusuf.

And at our Frankfurt MUG — led by Tim Bidenkapp, Nicole Wesemeyer, and Prabakaran Dhanasekaran — Sascha Dittmann demonstrated how easy it is to leverage Google’s BigQuery and MongoDB Atlas. Philipp Weyer showcased how MongoDB vector search capabilities will enable us to easily build customer experience features. And Praba and Raul Rincones demonstrated MongoDB’s reliability by explaining the raft protocol.

.local NYC was last week and what an event it was! We’re so grateful to have gotten to connect with so many of you, whether it was in-person or virtually. If you want to catch up on some of what went down, we created a page on Developer Center where you can access a bunch of helpful resources.

We recently had a MUG in Rome, led by Cesare Laurenziello. The session was on the raft consensus algorithm and the difference from MongoDB’s primary election.

Additionally, we met up in Bangalore, thanks to our MUG leaders Darshan Jayarama and Pallaav Sethi. Naveen Kumar delivered a torrent of game-changing ideas on how to leverage AWS Cloud Formation to spin up MongoDB replication in Atlas. Megha Arora did a deep dive into MongoDB Atlas authentication and IAM. Babu Srinivasan spoke on integrating MongoDB Atlas with Amazon SageMaker. And Jones Zachariah Noel N and Darshan gave an interactive presentation on MongoDB Change Streams and Amazon Kinesis.

Lastly, we made our way to Jakarta. Many thanks to our speaker, Hendri Tjiptowibowo.

From CAP, Community Champion Justin Lee demoed Morphia, the Java ODM for MongoDB, at the Developer Community Booth at .local NYC.

@stanimiravlaeva spoke at JSConf India, the first in-person JSConf conference in India. Her talk was “Serverless application development with MongoDB Atlas and Google Cloud.” She also did a workshop about MongoDB Atlas on Google Cloud in Google’s office in Bangalore, along with Megha Arora.

Additionally, @stanimiravlaeva was at Infoshare in Gdańsk, Poland! Infoshare is the biggest tech and startup event in Central and Eastern Europe. She spoke about MongoDB and cloud-native computing, and building a real-time bidding platform with Angular and MongoDB Atlas App Services.

Our MongoDB Dallas May Meetup - North America was a huge hit — thank you for joining! Allen Cordrey led the event, and Scott Stokes and @youoldmaid gave very memorable talks.

We also had our Lebanon MUG: The MongoDB Weekender Series - User Groups & Events, thanks to the efforts of leader and speaker Elie Hannouch.

Our leader Jake_McInteer absolutely crushed the Auckland MUG. Kudos to our speakers, Lance Wolters and Philipp Waffler.

plDroid happened in Poland, and Mohit_Sharma gave a talk. He and Kamil_Wieczorek were also at our MUG in Poland! You might've also spotted Piotr Oginski, the Technology Team Leader of eSky! Additional thanks to our leader and contributor, Kamil Wieczorek — this wouldn't have happened without you — our collaborators, Michael Jab and Vatsal Patel.

Did you join us for our Mumbai MUG? A job well done to our speakers – @sourabhbagrecha and @harshitmehta15 — and our leader, Nilesh Shinde.

Our Community Champions and Sao Paulo MUG Leader Leandro Domingues spoke at the Vortx event. You can view the recording of his talk on Relational Migrator.

Lastly, we had AWS meets MongoDB @ AWS Startup Loft NYC. Our speakers — Anaiya Raisinghani, Michael Lynn, and Igor Alekseev — gave incredible talks, and we loved connecting with everyone in person!

MUG Mexico was also a smashing success! We had a great time rebooting in-person and even raffled tickets to .local Mexico. Thank you to our leader and speaker, Alejandro Mancilla.

Community Champion Kevin Smith hosted a Learn MongoDB Workshop for the dotnet York user group.

We were recently in SoCal for .local, where we demoed a game we've been hard at work on: Leafsteroids! All of you played hundreds of sessions — many congrats to the winners.

Erik Hatcher participated in Search Hackday as part of Haystack US 2023. His project implemented a Solr-like interface to MongoDB Atlas Search – which could be a quick way to work with tools like Quepid that are Solr-compatible.
