Building a Cloud POS & Inventory System for Small Businesses (Lessons Learned)-LOVnEo

Background

This project didn’t start as a startup idea. It started as a problem I kept seeing repeatedly.

Small shop owners want:

Simple billing

Clear inventory tracking

Reliable access from their PC

Reasonable (or zero) cost

What they don’t want:

Complex enterprise software

Expensive licenses

Annual renewal pressure

Design Philosophy

While building this cloud POS system, I followed a few strict rules:

Cloud-first

Accessible anywhere

No local installation headaches

PC-friendly UI

Designed for counter usage

Fast and simple interactions

Only useful features

No feature bloat

Focus on daily operations

Free by default

No subscription

No lock-in

Tech Stack (High Level)

Frontend: React

Backend & Data: Cloud-based (Firebase)

Auth & security handled centrally

Designed to scale without adding cost to users

(Keeping the tech simple helped a lot.)

Biggest Lessons I Learned

Building for real users is very different from building demos

Small businesses value clarity more than fancy features

“Free” only works if trust is clearly communicated

Good UX matters more than complex architecture

Who This Is For

Paint shops

Hardware & electrical stores

Small retail businesses

Any business that wants cloud billing without expensive software

Try the App

You can try the app using general demo credentials here:
👉 Inventory POS
User:testuser@gmail.com , Password:Test@1234

If you find it useful and want a production version for real usage, please reach out to me — I’ll help you with proper access.

Final Thoughts

This project reminded me why I enjoy building software: Not for hype — but for usefulness.

If this post resonates with you, feel free to comment or connect.
Feedback is always welcome.

Why I Built a Free Cloud POS & Inventory App for Paint Shops -LOVnEo

Introduction

While working on different projects, I spent time understanding how small businesses actually work on the ground — especially paint shops.

One thing became very clear very quickly: Most POS and inventory software is too expensive, too complex, or both.

So I decided to build something different.

The Problem I Saw

Paint shops (and similar retail businesses) usually face these issues:

Licensed POS software with high upfront cost

Annual renewals that don’t justify the value

Overloaded features that shop staff never use

Software built without understanding real counter workflows

Most shop owners can afford a PC, but not expensive software tied to licenses and contracts.

The Idea

I asked myself a simple question:

What if there was a cloud-based POS & inventory system that was
simple, practical, and completely free?

That’s how this project started.

What I Built

I built a FREE cloud-based POS & Inventory web app, originally designed for paint shops but flexible enough for other small and medium businesses.

Key points:

Runs in the browser (cloud web app)

Designed for PC-based billing

Centralized data storage in the cloud

Simple UI focused on real shop workflows

No subscription. No license cost. No hidden charges

Why It’s Free

This is not a trial. This is not a freemium trap.

I built this to:

Solve a real problem I observed

Learn from real-world usage

Help small businesses that are usually ignored by SaaS pricing models

Try It Yourself

You can try the app using general demo credentials here:
👉 Inventory POS

User:testuser@gmail.com , Password:Test@1234

If you like how it works and want a production-ready version for real business usage, feel free to reach out to me directly — I’ll provide proper access and setup.

What I’m Looking For

Honest feedback

----LOVnEo---- Divakar----

Feature suggestions from real usage

Conversations with people building for small businesses

Thanks for reading 🙌
If you’re building something practical for real users, I’d love to connect.

Managing Personal Finances with Spentsor: A Developer’s Perspective

Hi everyone,

As a developer, I spend a lot of time thinking about efficiency — not just in code, but in life. One thing I noticed: managing personal finances can be chaotic. Bills, subscriptions, daily expenses — it’s easy to lose track.

That’s why I built Spentsor – AI Expense Tracker powered by LOVnEo. It’s my personal experiment in making money management simple and developer-friendly:

Track expenses automatically: AI categorizes spends so you don’t have to

Visual calendar view: See your month at a glance

Notes & reminders: Never miss a payment

Offline-first & ad-free: Smooth experience anytime

A simple example: I used to buy cold drinks every day without noticing. With Spentsor, I could see a pattern, track it, and cut unnecessary spending. Small changes like that add up quickly.

What I love as a developer: building something real people use and love. It’s not just a side project — it’s helping students, freelancers, young professionals, and families manage their money without stress.

If you’re curious, check out Spentsor on Google Play (developer: LOVnEo). And if you’re building apps, remember: solve real problems, keep UX simple, and iterate often.

—
Building Spentsor: My Journey from Tester to AI Expense Tracker Developer

Hey Dev community,

I’m Divakar, a software tester turned indie developer. I wanted to share the story behind Spentsor – AI Expense Tracker powered by LOVnEo.

The idea came from seeing real-life problems around me. A
friend of mine was using a popular money management app and was constantly frustrated — too many ads, confusing dropdowns, and she couldn’t easily see where her money was going. She looked at me and said, “You’re a developer, right? Why don’t you make something better?”

Honestly, that hit me. I’ve been testing apps, fixing UX issues, and building small things before — like Rental Collect — but this felt like a real problem I could solve for people.

So I started designing Spentsor. My goals were simple:

Make AI categorize expenses automatically

Give users a calendar view of their spending

Add notes and bill reminders

Keep the UX smooth and minimal

Remove annoying ads and make it usable offline first

Seven months later, Spentsor was born.

What I love about building this app is that it’s solving a real problem, not just creating another shiny app. Now, students, freelancers, young professionals, and families can track their money without stress. It’s fast, clean, and smart.

Lessons I learned building Spentsor:

Listen to actual problems people face — not what you think they want.

UX matters more than features. A simple, smooth interface is worth more than 10 complex features.

AI can save time, but only if it actually makes life easier.

Build in public. Sharing your progress and getting feedback early can save months of rework.

If you’re curious, Spentsor is live on Google Play (developer: LOVnEo) and I’d love feedback from the Dev community. It’s been a fun, messy, learning-filled journey — and hopefully, it helps people manage their finances more easily.
