Palettea is an early-stage, open-source digital painting app designed to empower artists with creative freedom while maintaining ethical, human-centered design principles. We’re reimagining the tools artists rely on — think cross-platform, intuitive, and built for the soul, not just algorithms or market trends.

We are seeking a Technical Co-Founder (CTO) to join the founding team. You’ll be responsible for shaping the technical architecture, developing core features like brush simulation and cross-platform compatibility, and helping build a values-aligned volunteer team.

*What We’re Looking For
*

5–10 years of software development experience (graphics, creative coding, or cross-platform frameworks preferred)
Experience with open-source collaboration (GitHub, version control)
Excellent English communication skills
Based in North America (preferred)
Passion for creating ethical, artist-centered software

Tired of subscription traps controlling creative tools? Palettea is an open-source, cross-platform art app that puts artists first—and we’re looking for talented developers to help build it. Responsibilities

Develop and maintain front-end or back-end components.
Collaborate asynchronously with a remote, creative team.
Own features end-to-end, from design to implementation.
Communicate clearly in English with team members and contributors.

Skills & Qualifications

Strong experience in one or more of the following:
- Frontend: React, Vue, or similar frameworks
- Backend: Node.js, Python, or equivalent
- Cross-Platform: Flutter, Electron, or similar
Able to work remotely from the US or Canada.
Clear English-language communication skills.
Passion for open-source projects and empowering artists.
