What is the reason for ChatGPT’s success? 🚀

Many assume that it is the biggest innovation and revolution brought to the AI market, which was feeling a bit stagnant, and that brought about its big boom. But, is there more to it than that? Doesn’t it smell like… something else…? 🤔

It’s time to lower the sails! Let’s go further in the labor and educational area! ⛵️

Students, professionals, businessmen, entrepreneurs, everyone, absolutely everyone, needs help. It’s natural, it’s being human; we always need a hand, even if sometimes it’s quite difficult to ask for help. 🤝

I can assure you that a large percentage of the people reading this will agree that asking for help from anyone is one of the most difficult things to do. Whether it is a teacher, a boss, a colleague, whoever, it is uncomfortable to ask for help, since we do not know the reaction of the person who will give us the answer to our question.

Sometimes, even those who already help us on a recurring basis. One day, for whatever reason, they reject our request and may even talk to us in an inappropriate way and hurt that little heart we carry. 💔

The question is, why is it so difficult for us to ask for help? Beyond the fact that we are afraid of the reaction of the person we are asking, there is something else to mention.

Humans from the beginning were dedicated to survive alone, and although later communities were formed and people helped each other in certain things, there were always situations in which each one had to solve on their own.

Today it is still like that; we want to have our own achievements that are separate from our teams or groups we are in, we want to stand out with our own things, we want our name to appear next to a discovery or project alone. Look how great scientific discoveries in history are more the ones with a single name than the union of several of them. 🌟

And in any case that we receive help from/at something, we want to avoid that reality to be known. It was us and that’s it, no one else!

So guess who best fits this part of helping without being part of our project? Yep, that’s right, this is where ChatGPT or any chatbot of your choice has hit the hardest.

For us, ChatGPT is a machine. What we talk and consult is between both of us, the help he gives us we can appropriate and say that they were elaborated by us, he is a co-pilot who is not looking for his name to be mentioned within your achievements, he is your perfect ally to handle any topic, he is the person who is not a person who knows the most about that topic, he is just amazing! 🤖

It is here where any professional or student of any area feels confident to talk to his friend Chapi (as I call him affectionately😁), and ask his doubts, talk about specific topics or maybe ask him to do all the functionality or complete task he needs (ah ok, that wasn’t going 😂).

We feel safe doing it, it doesn’t judge us (it can even motivate us if we ask), we don’t demonstrate lack of mastery in something, and it feels human. It’s not hundreds of pages thrown by a search engine trying to match, it’s a concrete and direct answer to the point, although sometimes invented and it’s up to us to validate if it’s correct, but nothing out of our hands. This is where the magic is. ✨

The fact that these models are conversational is what makes them interesting, that the requests feel the same as asking another person, with so much interaction, with so many features, it is very nice that even in your private issues can help you, where we know you are looking for answers to your problems so you don’t go to a psychologist (Brother, seek professional help 😐). And yes, there are also those who want to receive love and ask you to behave like a partner… 💑

It’s that you can literally make a chatbot behave in any way you tell it to, give it the instructions you want, tell it the way it will return answers, change the way it interprets, it’s totally moldable to taste!

How are you going to want to refuse or avoid using it? You do it and simply the one who is left behind is you 🙊.

Now yes, it is very likely that many of you are still using it wrong, by bad luck we are so used to search engines that for many it is difficult to interpret that it is a someone and not a something. ¿A qué se debe el éxito de ChatGPT? 🚀

Muchos suponen que se trata de la mayor innovación y revolución traída al mercado de la IA, la cual se sentía un poco estancada, y eso trajo consigo su gran boom. ¿Pero, hay algo más que eso? ¿No huele a… algo más…? 🤔

¡Es momento de arriar las velas! ¡Vamos más allá en el área laboral y educativa! ⛵️

Estudiantes, profesionales, empresarios, emprendedores, todos, absolutamente todos, necesitamos ayuda. Es natural, es ser humano; siempre necesitamos una mano, aunque en ocasiones sea bastante difícil pedir ayuda. 🤝

Puedo asegurar que un gran porcentaje de las personas que lean esto van a coincidir en que pedir favores de ayuda, a quien sea, es una de las cosas más difíciles. Sea a un profesor, un jefe, un compañero, sea quien sea, es incómodo pedirle ayudas, ya que no sabemos la reacción de quien nos brindará la respuesta a nuestra duda.

A veces, hasta a quienes ya recurrentemente nos ayudan. Un día cualquiera, sea por la cuestión que sea, nos rechazan la solicitud y puede que hasta nos hable de una manera inadecuada e hieran ese corazoncito que cargamos. 💔

La pregunta es, ¿por qué nos es tan difícil pedir ayuda? Más allá de que tengamos miedo a la reacción de a quien le pedimos, hay algo más a mencionar.

El humano desde sus inicios se dedicó a sobrevivir solo, y aunque luego se formaron comunidades y las personas se ayudaban en ciertas cosas, siempre había situaciones en las que cada uno debía resolver por su parte.

Hoy en día sigue siendo así; queremos tener logros propios que sean separados de nuestros equipos o grupos en los que estamos, queremos destacar con cosas nuestras, queremos que nuestro nombre aparezca al lado de un descubrimiento o proyecto solo. Mira cómo grandes descubrimientos científicos de la historia son más los que tienen un único nombre que la unión de varios de ellos. 🌟

Y en todo caso de que recibamos ayuda de/en algo, queremos evitar que se conozca esa realidad. Fuimos nosotros y listo, ¡nadie más!

Entonces, ¿adivina quién es que mejor encaja en esta parte de ayudar sin formar parte de nuestro proyecto? Sip, así es, es aquí donde ChatGPT o cualquier chatbot de tu preferencia ha golpeado más fuerte.

Para nosotros, ChatGPT es una máquina. Lo que hablamos y consultamos es entre ambos, las ayudas que nos da podemos apropiarlas y decir que fueron elaboradas por nosotros, es un copiloto que no busca que su nombre se mencione dentro de tus logros, es tu aliado perfecto para manejar cualquier tema, es la persona que no es persona que más sabe de ese tema, ¡es simplemente increíble! 🤖

Es aquí donde cualquier profesional o estudiante de cualquier área se siente confiado de conversar con su amigo el Chapi (como le digo yo de cariño😁), y preguntar sus dudas, conversar sobre temas específicos o quizás pedirle que le haga toda la funcionalidad o tarea completa que necesita (ah vale, eso no iba 😂).

Nos sentimos seguros haciéndolo, no nos juzga (hasta puede motivarnos si así lo pedimos), no demostramos falta de dominio en algo, y lo sentimos humano. No son cientos de páginas lanzadas por un buscador intentando coincidir, sino que es una respuesta concreta y directa al grano, aunque a veces inventada y que toca validar si está correcta, pero nada fuera de nuestras manos. Es aquí donde está la magia. ✨

El hecho de que estos modelos sean conversacionales es lo que los hace interesantes, que las peticiones se sientan igual que pedir a otra persona, con tanta interacción, con tantas funcionalidades, es muy agradable que hasta en tus temas privados pueda ayudarte, donde sabemos que buscas respuestas a tus problemas para no acudir a un psicólogo (Hermano, busca ayuda profesional 😐). Y sí, están también los que quieren recibir amor y le piden se comporte como una pareja… 💑

Es que literalmente, puedes hacer a un chatbot comportarse de cualquier forma que le indiques, darle las instrucciones que quieras, indicarle la forma en que devolverá las respuestas, cambiar la forma en que interpreta, ¡es totalmente moldeable a gusto!

¿Cómo vas a querer rechazar o evitar su uso? Lo haces y simplemente quien queda atrás eres tú 🙊

Ahora sí, es muy probable que muchos de ustedes lo sigan utilizando mal, por mala suerte estamos tan acostumbrados a los buscadores que para muchos es difícil interpretar que es un alguien y no un algo. Así que los ayudaré un poco en esto. Demasiados frameworks de JS, pero por qué?

A menudo se puede pensar que ya es repugnante la cantidad de frameworks que hay en el mercado, o pensar que algunas personas han quedado fuera del tren de la tecnología y están en camino de quedarse sin trabajo pronto.

¿Por qué cada día nace una nueva tecnología que cambia el método y la forma de trabajar con las interfaces web?

La razón más simple es que es difícil agregar o cambiar ciertas características a los frameworks ya establecidos.

Como comenta Fernando Herrera en su podcast semanal “Devtalles”, todos los frameworks nuevos salen con la intención de incluir algo nuevo, además de partir de una buena base de código que pueda escalar e implementar algunas técnicas que les permitan ser más eficientes y ocupar menos espacio y recursos. Increíble, ¿verdad?

Aunque, sinceramente, si me preguntas cuál considero que le ha ido mejor, yo te respondería: Astro.

¿Por qué José???👀

Tantos nuevos frameworks que han implementado funcionalidades interesantes e ingeniosas que incluso han sido llevadas a los frameworks más utilizados, o esos mismos frameworks están buscando una manera de implementar su propia solución para no quedarse fuera de la tendencia.
Y para ti sólo Astro lo ha hecho bien ¿verdad? ¡Exactamente! 😉

Otros frameworks han incluido características valiosas para mencionar, como lo hizo SolidJS con las señales que todos quieren o tienen (incluso ya están en camino de estandarizarse en ES). Qwik con capacidad de reanudación, reducción absolutamente sorprendente de Javascript al cargar un sitio web, y así sucesivamente.
¿Qué pasa con todo esto?

Lo único que veo, en mi opinión, es que han trabajado horas y horas con la intención de presentar algo nuevo y llamar la atención, sólo para que grandes frameworks lo recojan e implementen. Y crean el marco sólo con la intención de tener un lugar donde ejecutar estas nuevas funciones.

No parece que tengan la intención de que su marco sea el que se utilice.

Además, todo parece deberse a la falta de comunicación entre los desarrolladores, la envidia y el egoísmo con el que sólo quieren conseguir algo primero y que mencionen su nombre. Para que así puedan ocupar un lugar en la historia como desarrolladores de esa característica y no estar a la sombra de un equipo.

El factor más grave para ellos está en las librerías de npm. Para React, Angular y Vue por ejemplo, existen bibliotecas con todo tipo de soluciones. Quieres implementar algo en tu sistema, buscas un poquito y ahí está, una biblioteca para solucionarlo.

Ahora, los reto a encontrar una solución de este tipo para nuevos frameworks. Antes de que te canses de buscar, mejor tómate ese tiempo y crea algo tú mismo, para contribuir a la comunidad del framework y aprender cosas nuevas😉.

Este punto débil no permite la aceptación masiva de cada nuevo framework que vemos, porque una empresa no se va a permitir volver a desarrollar cientos de funcionalidades que ya tienen bibliotecas que utilizan en sus proyectos. Sólo para utilizar esta nueva tecnología con el objetivo de reducir tiempos de desarrollo, añadir algo nuevo o estar a la moda.

Por eso vemos que los sistemas bancarios siguen utilizando Cobol desde hace años, pero ese es otro tema.

Y aquí es donde me preguntas, José, ¿dónde está la que dices que fue la mejor idea en el momento de su creación? Ah si, estás hablando de Astro, este quedará pendiente para el próximo blog (no quiero extenderme tanto, lo siento😅).

So many JS frameworks, but why?

We can often think that it’s already disgusting how many frameworks there are on the market, or think that some people have been left off the technology train and are on their way to being out of a job soon.

Why is it that every day a new technology is born that changes the method and way of working with web interfaces?

The simplest reason is that it is difficult to add or change certain features to established frameworks.

As Fernando Herrera commented in his weekly podcast “Devtalles”, all new frameworks come out with the intention of including something new, in addition to starting from a good code base that can scale and implement some techniques that allow them to be more efficient and take up less space and resources. Incredible, right?

Although, honestly you ask me which one I consider has done better, and I would answer Astro.

Why Jose???👀

So many frameworks that have implemented cool and ingenious functionalities that have even been implemented in the most used frameworks, or those same frameworks are looking for a way to implement their own solution to not stay out of the trend.
And for you only Astro has done it right? Exactly!😉

Other frameworks have included valuable features to mention, as did SolidJS with the signals that everyone wants or has (even already on the way to standardize on ES). Qwik with resumability capability, absolutely stunning reduction of Javascript when loading a website, and so on and on and on.
What’s up with all this?

The only thing I see, in my opinion, is that they have worked hours and hours with the intention of presenting something new and attracting attention, only for big frameworks to pick it up and implement it. And they create the framework only with the intention of having somewhere to run these new features.

It doesn’t look like they intend for their framework to be the one used.

Moreover, everything seems to be caused by lack of communication between developers, envy and selfishness with which they just want to get something first and have their name mentioned. So that they can take a place in history as the developer of that feature and not be in the shadow of a team.

The most serious factor for them is in npm libraries. For React, Angular and Vue for example, there are libraries with all kinds of solutions. You want to implement something in your system, you search a little bit and there it is, a library to solve it.

Now, I challenge you to find such a solution for new frameworks. Before you get tired of searching, better take that time and create something yourself, so you contribute to the framework community and learn new things😉.

This weak point does not allow the mass acceptance of every new framework we see, because a company is not going to allow itself to redevelop hundreds of features that already have libraries that they use in their projects. Just to use this new technology to reduce time, add something new or be trendy.

That’s why we see banking systems of yearssssss still using Cobol, but this is another topic.
