Hi there! Are you ready to join the Blockchain revolution? Whether you're a tech geek or just curious about the world of finance, you've come to the right place. Today, we're taking a journey through the world of Blockchain, and we promise it's going to be a wild ride.

We'll start with the basics, like what exactly Blockchain is and why it's so important. Then, we'll delve into the nitty-gritty details, like how it works and what makes it so secure. And last but not least, we'll explore the many ways Blockchain is changing the world and how it's shaping the future.

So buckle up, grab a coffee, and get ready to discover the world of Blockchain. Let's go!

  What Is Blockchain Technology?

Ever heard of Blockchain and had no idea what it was all about? Well, fear not my friend! We’re here to break it down for you in a way that's easy to understand and, most importantly, entertaining.

Picture this: you’re at a party and everyone is sharing their secrets. But instead of whispers, they write it down on a piece of paper and place it in a box. This box is the Blockchain. And once something is written in the box, it can’t be changed or deleted. So, it’s like a permanent record of all the secrets (or transactions) at the party.

And here’s the best part, the box isn’t just sitting in one place, it’s duplicated and spread out to all the party guests. So, if someone tries to cheat and change their secret, it’ll be immediately obvious to everyone else.

That’s basically what Blockchain technology is, a decentralized and secure way of storing and sharing information. And it’s not just for parties, it’s being used in everything from finance to healthcare. So, there you have it, Blockchain explained in a nutshell. And who knows, it might even be the future!

  Why Is Blockchain Technology Required?

So, you’re still with us and curious about the wonders of Blockchain? I’m so glad! Today we’re talking about why we need Blockchain in our lives. You know what they say, "the world is moving forward and so should we". And that's where Blockchain comes in!

You see, in today’s world, we rely heavily on intermediaries like banks and government institutions to keep our information and transactions secure. But what happens when those intermediaries make a mistake or, even worse, act maliciously? That’s where Blockchain comes in.

With Blockchain, there’s no need for intermediaries. Transactions are made directly between two parties, with the network verifying and recording the transaction. And because the information is stored across a network of computers, it’s virtually impossible to tamper with.

This creates a secure and transparent system, where individuals have control over their own data and transactions. And that’s just the beginning. From creating new forms of currency to improving supply chain management, the possibilities of Blockchain are endless.

So there you have it, folks. Why we need Blockchain. It’s a trusty sidekick in a world where trust is hard to come by. In short, Blockchain is required because it’s secure, transparent, and has the potential to revolutionize the way we do things. Who knew a bunch of ones and zeros could be so powerful? And who knows, we might just be able to create a better, fairer world for all of us. Who knew a technology could be so important for keeping us honest and trustworthy?

  How Does Blockchain Technology Functions?

So, Ready to learn more about the inner workings of Blockchain? Let's talk about blocks and chains, the building blocks (pun intended) of this amazing technology.

The Blocks: Each block on the Blockchain is like a little room, with a specific amount of space to store data. And once that space is filled up, the block is automatically signed off as complete. It's like when you finally clean out your closet and you get that satisfying feeling of a job well done.

The Chains: But here's where the real magic happens. Once a block is complete, a new block is created, and it continues from where the last block left off. And just like a chain, each block is linked to the one before it, forming a permanent and secure record of all transactions made on the network.

So there you have it, folks. Blocks and chains, the building blocks of Blockchain. It's a secure and transparent digital ledger that's shared among a network of computers, and each block is linked to the one before it, creating a permanent record of transactions. It's like a never-ending relay race, with each block passing the torch to the next one.

  Features of Blockchain:

Wow, we've come a long way in our Blockchain journey, haven't we? We've learned how the blocks are mined and how they're linked together to form a chain. And now, we're moving on to explore the amazing features of this revolutionary technology. So, get comfortable, because we're about to dive into the unique characteristics that make Blockchain stand out from the rest. Are you ready? Let's go!

  Decentralization:

First on our list is decentralization. You know how we have central authorities that control our financial transactions or data? Well, Blockchain takes a different approach. Instead of having a central authority, Blockchain operates on a network of computers spread across the world. This means there's no single point of control, making it more secure and resistant to hacking or fraud. Plus, with everyone having access to the same information, it makes the system more transparent and trustworthy.

  Transparency:

Next up, transparency. With Blockchain, every transaction is recorded on a public ledger that everyone can see. This makes it possible to track the flow of money or data, giving you greater control and security. Plus, with all transactions being visible, it's easier to detect any suspicious activity or fraud.

  Security:

And of course, there's security. With Blockchain, transactions are secured using cryptography, which makes them tamper-proof. No more worrying about hackers or fraudsters. This means you can have peace of mind knowing that your transactions and data are protected.

  Immutability:

Lastly, immutability. Once a block is added to the chain, it can't be altered or deleted. This means that the data stored on the Blockchain is permanent, making it trustworthy and secure. Whether you're storing financial information or medical records, you can have confidence that your data will remain safe and unaltered.

So there you have it, folks. Decentralization, transparency, security, and immutability - the key features that make Blockchain such a revolutionary technology. With these features in place, Blockchain is changing the world one block at a time. So, let's join the revolution and discover the many benefits of Blockchain!

  Conclusion:

Well, that's a wrap folks! We hope you had as much fun reading this blog as we had writing it. We started by learning what Blockchain is and why it's so important. We then delved into how it works and discovered the amazing features that make it stand out.

We hope you now have a better understanding of this revolutionary technology and why it's being hailed as the future of finance, data management, and more. Whether you're a tech enthusiast or just looking to learn something new, we hope this blog has provided you with some valuable insights.

And who knows, after reading this blog, you might just be inspired to start your own Blockchain project or invest in a company that's using this technology. But regardless of what you choose to do next, one thing is for sure: you'll be ready to impress your friends and family with your newfound knowledge of Blockchain!

So, once again, thank you for joining us on this fun and friendly journey into the world of Blockchain. Stay curious and keep learning!

  1. Overdub -

When producing a project video, we can make use of an AI-powered tool called Descript. This powerful software program provides users with the capability to easily generate, revise, and publish high-quality audio. It can be used to transcribe sound into text, so we can then manipulate the transcribed text to create the exact audio we need. Moreover, Descript has a built-in feature that allows us to quickly adjust the length and pitch of the audio, allowing us to deliver a professional-sounding video in no time.

  2. ChatGPT -

ChatGPT is a very popular tool that many of us are already familiar with. It can be used as a chatbot, which is a program that is powered by artificial intelligence and capable of simulating real conversations with people. By describing the project and its technical details to the model, it can generate a basic template for the project documentation which can then be edited by the user to provide a detailed and accurate documentation for the project. This can save time and effort for participants in creating a comprehensive documentation.

  3. AI Image Enlarger & Enhancer -

When developing a project, we may need to use some image assets. The problem with using images is that the resolution of the images may be very low, lowering the quality of the user interface. So, while developing a project in a hackathon, we can use the AI Image Enlarger & Enhancer to enlarge any image and remove all distortions in the image, saving us a lot of time searching for a high quality image.
AI Image Enlarger

  4. Supercreator -

When creating a video for the hackathon project, we may utilise an AI-powered tool called Supercreator to quickly create short videos. Supercreator is the most recent incarnation of the video-making studio, and it makes use of the power of Artificial Intelligence to combine over a hundred arduous and time-consuming operations into a single simple tool.

  5. Notion AI -

Notion AI is another tool which can be used while we are writing contect after developing the project and documentaion like Summarize, Rephrase, generate documentation, and we can even use this tool to guide us to write code 😉

  6. GitHub Copilot -

When we are developing a project in the hackathon, we may stuck at any point, so we may utilise these types of tools to help us finish our job and better analyse the programme context. GitHub Copilot is an artificial intelligence-powered pair programmer that provides autocomplete-style recommendations as you code. You can receive suggestions from GitHub Copilot either by starting to write the code you want to use, or by writing a natural language comment describing what you want the code to do. GitHub Copilot analyzes the context in the file you are editing, as well as related files, and offers suggestions from within your text editor. GitHub Copilot is powered by OpenAI Codex, a new AI system created by OpenAI.

  7. Namelix -

The one thing that is tough to think of is the name of the project for which we may utilise this website, Namelix is a website for Business Name Generator generate a short, brandable business name using artificial intelligence. It can generate short, catchy names with a
state of the art language model.

With the ever-evolving world of AI technology, hackathons present a unique opportunity to push the boundaries of innovation and creativity. The tools mentioned in this blog, such as overdub, chatgpt, AI Image Enlarger & Enhancer, Supercreator, Noation AI, GitHub Copilot, and namelix, are just a few examples of the endless possibilities that exist. Embrace the power of AI and let it be a driving force in your next hackathon project.

The sky's the limit!

Are you ready to discover the power of language generation? Look no further than ChatGPT, the cutting-edge language model developed by OpenAI. In this interactive essay, we'll delve into the inner workings of ChatGPT and explore its potential applications in various industries. From its ability to generate human-like text to its potential ethical considerations, we've got it all covered. So come along for the ride and be prepared to have your mind blown by the capabilities of ChatGPT. Let's get started!

ChatGPT is a large language model developed by OpenAI that has the ability to generate human-like text with a high degree of fluency and coherence. The model is trained on a massive dataset of text, which allows it to understand and respond to human input in a natural and conversational manner. This has made it a popular choice for developers and businesses looking to create interactive and engaging AI experiences.

One of the key features of ChatGPT is its ability to generate text that is not only grammatically correct but also contextually appropriate. This allows the model to be used in a variety of applications, such as language translation, text summarization, and text completion. For example, ChatGPT can be used to generate summaries of long articles or documents, making it easier for people to quickly understand the main points. Additionally, it can be used to complete a sentence or paragraph, which can save a lot of time for writers or content creators.

ChatGPT is based on the GPT (Generative Pre-training Transformer) architecture, which is a type of transformer neural network. The model is trained on a massive dataset of text, which allows it to generate human-like text with a high degree of fluency and coherence.

ChatGPT is built using several technologies, including neural networks, machine learning, and natural language processing (NLP).

The primary technology used to build ChatGPT is the transformer neural network architecture. This architecture is a type of deep learning model that is particularly well-suited for natural language processing tasks, such as language translation and text generation.

The transformer architecture was introduced in the paper "Attention is All You Need" and it uses self-attention mechanism to weigh the importance of different words in the input, allowing the model to better understand the context of the text.

The model is trained using a technique called unsupervised pre-training, in which it is trained on a large dataset of text without any specific task in mind. This allows the model to learn the underlying structure of language, which can then be fine-tuned for specific tasks.

In addition to the transformer architecture, ChatGPT also makes use of other NLP technologies such as tokenization, stemming, and lemmatization to preprocess the text data before feeding it to the model. Furthermore, the model is trained on a massive dataset of text, with the most recent version of ChatGPT being trained on 570GB of text data.

Finally, the model is implemented using various programming languages and libraries such as Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch. These libraries provide the necessary tools and functionality to train, evaluate and deploy the model.

ChatGPT can provide assistance in areas such as research, proofreading, topic development, writing introductions that hook the reader, and so much more. This is all done without compromising the quality of the article’s content. With this innovative AI Writing Assistant writers can save time while still producing quality work.

Conversational AI is one of the most important applications of ChatGPT. The model's ability to understand and respond to human input in a natural and conversational manner has made it a popular choice for chatbots and virtual assistants. Businesses can use ChatGPT to create chatbots that can understand and respond to customer inquiries in a natural and conversational manner, which can greatly improve customer satisfaction and loyalty. Furthermore, ChatGPT-powered virtual assistants can help with scheduling, booking, and other tasks, which can save time and increase productivity.

Another important application of ChatGPT is in the field of content creation. The model can be used to generate new content, such as articles, stories, and even poetry. This can be especially useful for content creators who need to generate a large amount of content in a short period of time. Additionally, ChatGPT can also be used to generate unique and creative content that would be difficult for a human to come up with on their own.

ChatGPT also has potential to be used in the field of education. It can be used to generate educational content, such as practice questions and summaries, which can save time for educators and make learning more engaging for students. Additionally, ChatGPT can be used to answer student's questions in a natural and conversational manner, which can greatly improve the learning experience.

In conclusion, ChatGPT is a powerful and versatile tool that has a wide range of potential applications in the real world. Its ability to generate human-like text and understand context makes it a valuable tool for natural language processing, conversational AI and content creation. The potential of this technology is virtually limitless and as the field of AI continues to evolve, it is likely that ChatGPT will continue to be an important tool for developers and businesses looking to create cutting-edge AI experiences.

How participation in college festivals matter too besides community work

These days, as the student fraternity continues to grow, there is a confusion for the freshers as
soon as they get admitted to a college and are introduced to a wide range of activities-either on
campus or via online forums. This blog will help them consider exploring the participation in
college festivals, as working in student communities may look good in the CV but there are a
few perks of the former that people may miss out if the opportunities are not pursued!

The aura is different here-
There is generally no competition from non college students & there is no internship to crack
here- so the pressure is less & one can typically unwind themselves while enjoying the events
(except when one becomes a finalist of course)
Here, people explore all kinds of talents-which aren't usually there in community meetups. The
audience might be completely different with no extra push to crack a good salary towards the
end of the college, while meetups may be more job focused.

Winning a competition boosts morale-
Whether it is creative writing, singing, dancing, etc to robowars, robot soccer, aeromodelling
(among the vast range of competitions available), there is a lot to explore, learn & implement
while trying a shot to win prizes. There might be prizes from companies (read: swag) but earning
one with one's own sweat & blood, without spending hours in front of a screen, with one's own
talent is what that may drive one's confidence.

There is madness-
College fests are meant to have musical nights, with people dancing without sleep in their eyes.
Moreover, community events won't have long hours and djs (except for a few hackathons but
that is a seperate one).

Opportunity to stay in other colleges and network with people-
Meetups and events don't last too long to connect & talk to people. Hackathons too, are
designed to keep people busy in building their products. But in fests, there is always plenty of
time to do what is needed!

Fests have more reach than meetups and hackathons.
People who aren't in the tech field & jobs are easily found here! Moreover, you can get
participation certificates to flex in social media posts.

These are some of the main reasons why I attend college fests, & I think why people should
attend fests.

Hosting my first ever Session was fun

I'm Rishita Nayak, a 1st year B.E CSE student at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology ,Chennai.
I was a Hackathon Evangelist at Hack This Fall 2.0.

Hack This Fall 2.0 was my first ever hackathon and to be very honest, I had no experience of any tech stack except Python.
One of our teammates have experience in Python and Pandas and that's why I ended up participating in Hack this Fall hackathon.
I was active in this community after getting a role of Hackathon Evangelist.

I still remember the onboarding call with all the Evangelists out their. I was new to all these words(community, collaboration, communication, team building)
Was altogether in a new environment and was bit uncomfortable as I didn't know anything about it.
But thanks to Hack This Fall Community members, who didn't make me feel neglected and always gave me an opportunity to speak up.
The speaker sessions were so informative , came to know different technologies which I can use in the upcoming hackathons.

Besides this, I joined Hack This Fall Guild in Local Hack Day: Learn ,hosted by Major League Hacking too and was fun to learn with all my guild members and teammates.

  Coming back to the topic i.e., hosting a session.

There was an opportunity given by Hack This Fall , to host a session in our campus.
At first,I wasn't into it , as I was an introvert.
I didn't know how to face the camera and most importantly I had bad communication skills.
But when I saw folks in our community started hosting their sessions in their respective campus , I too got some courage to do so.
Though I wasn't prepared to host it ,just to give it a try I asked my college students to join the session.
Neither I knew them nor they knew me, was completely a new experience and nervousness was at some another level.
But , by and by I could cover all the topics which I wanted to deliver them.

  The Things which I covered was as follows:

1.What is a Hackathon?
2.What are the perquisites required to participate in hackathons?
3.Do we need experience?
4.All about Hack This Fall 2.0 hackathon
5.Importance of Community
6.How to find different opportunities?
and lot more...

Although, I was nervous and cold but I didn't face it for long.
I didn't expect that the session to go so well. And this was possible all because of the folks who joined it.
They were super active to know the things, though I was also a newbie like them still, whatever I was able to grasp in these 2 months I tried to explain it to them.
The eagerness of the folks made it easy for me to host it smoothly.
This was my first ever session which I hosted in my campus. I am thankful to "Hack this Fall" team to bring up this idea.
Because of you all , I was able to gain some confidence to face the audience and it helped me to interact with all.

That's all about my experience...
Looking forward to join Hack This Fall Season 3.🔥
till then Happy Hacking :)

My takeaways as a Hackathon Evangelist at Hack This Fall 2.0

This pandemic has been a blessing in disguise for many people , and has gifted many with the time to introspect one's interest and develop one's skillsets. With many events shifted to the virtual mode and with learning happening online, there were many things that changed my mindsets about being a STEM major in 2021.One such experience was that I was blessed to be a part of a diverse network of people, who shared a like mindedness for constantly learning , sharing ideas and taking the outreach of communities to the next level. During the pandemic, I had an opportunity to explore different fields, starting from problem-solving to Data science and web-development, and often stayed connected with many people on linkedin. It was not until, I came to be a part of the hack this fall team , that I got acquainted with the real idea behind communities.

  What are communities ??

In simple terms, Community is a group ,comprising of like-minded people who have diverse thoughts and outlooks and work towards achieving common goals of reaching a higher outreach.

  Recent trends

With the technology industry booming at a rapid rate, there has been a rapid rise in the growth of developer communities and events that require you to work with communities such as ambassador cohorts, volunteering and mentorship programs. Apart from this, community organizations such as MLH, HackThisFall and many more are known to host hackathons, that help in fostering the hackathon culture across the world. In the past one year, Community space has been booming in india. With a greater scope for community engagement and collaboration, hackers in the country are winning the world's best hackathons and going places, creating high impacts by leveraging the "community" mindset. Beginner hackers, have taken the first step of driving change by emerging out of their comfort zones.

  Importance of contributing to communities

Communities are important everywhere, because it helps in bringing forward individuals with different mindsets and approaches, who can brainstorm, collaborate and find a solution to problems. This follows the same approach similar to that of "open-source", where different people work on common issues to contribute to improvements in development.

Communities are all about finding solutions to problems through effective collaboration, and with the mindsets of helping each other learn and grow together. Being a part of a community, not only helps you build networks, but at the same time builds your problem-solving skills, since you not only learn to solve your problems, but also become a part of fixing others problems by collaborating.

  Some common examples of how organizations have benefitted through community collaborations

The outcome of how successful a community is, is decided by the members who constitute the community. Those communities that provide a Welcoming, accepting, inclusive and a diverse space for new ideas are often known to attract greater talents, and hence retain the talent pool for a longer time and sustain the community in the long run. Taking the example of github, when github started out as a new product, it never had functionalities such as making a pull request, but with effective collaborations from the community, it has developed a wide variety of functionalities, that are used by millions of developers across the world today. This is the ultimate power of "community outreach".

  My takeaways from my journey as a "Community Evangelist"

I was initially based on the fact that only learning "DSA and Web Development" would make you a better engineer, with the kind of rat-race I had faced in my college. But becoming a part of hack this fall widened my perspective. The idea of being a part of communities, made me network with a diverse group of people who were like-minded, having different skill-sets, and most importantly, had a mindset of community growth, by learning and growing together as a community. I not only made meaningful acquaintances, but met people who had completely changed my mindsets and inspired me to do better. One such person is @siddharth
Dayalwal, who not only mentored me ,but at the same completely changed my mindsets about giving back to the community as a primary goal of my career. As a community evangelist, We had great networking sessions through weekly sync-up calls and HTF-connects, where we had sessions with renowned people like @aditya
oberai, @shivaylamba
and @dwivicy. We also got to attend many events and workshops by amazing people, that also helped learn new skills. And most importantly, I got to be a part of the famous Github Field Day India,2021 , which was a game changer in my career as a developer and MLH: Local Hack Day. I was able to explore my true potential and also learnt a lot of life skills, such as having a positive mindset,coming out of your comfort-zone, public-speaking, giving back to the community, overcoming imposter syndrome and many more. In the journey of three months, I have not only grown as a developer, But as a holistic individual, who would love to give back to the hacker community and make a difference in the community, through my contributions.

I conducted a session on Introduction to Spark AR where we travelled through all the steps right from prerequisites to publishing an effect.

Most of the folks attending the session were new to Augmented Reality so they were quite interested to learn how it works and how they themselves can create their own AR Filter.

There were about 30-40 active folks who learnt something new in the session and also I got some requests

Also got some important reviews which will help me to improvise my upcoming events also shared about Hack This Fall 2.0 at the event which will be helpful for the students to kickstart their hackathon journey.

3 Python Mini Projects with code you can build now.

In today's post, I will be sharing three fun python mini projects with code that you can start building now. So, let's begin -

  1. Random Password Generator

In this project, we will be writing a python program to generate random passwords.

Approach - Here, we are first asking the user for the size of the desired password. After this, we define a long string consisting of alphabets, numbers, and special symbols. Once we have obtained the size, we will use the random.sample() function to generate a string of random characters of a given size.

  2. Convert PDF Text to Audiobook

In this project, we will be writing a python program that can be used to convert PDF text to audiobook.

Approach - We will be using pyttsx3 python library to convert text to speech.
Installation - We will first install pyttsx3 and PyPDF2 packages.
References - https://pypi.org/project/pyttsx3/

  3. Email Slicer Program

In this project, we will be writing a python program to fetch our username and domain name from our email address

Approach - We know that the username and domain name are separated by a @ character, so we will be basically dividing our entire email into 2 strings using @ as a divider.

I hope you found these mini-projects useful and interesting and will build these projects, as the best way to learn any programming language is by building projects.

If you enjoyed working on these projects, you can also participate in Hack This Fall 2.0 and explore building advanced projects. Hack This Fall is a 48 Hours virtual hackathon that aims at nurturing your new ideas and prototypes in various domains. You can check out the official website to get more information and register for the hackathon - https://hackthisfall.tech/.

Also, don't forget to use my referral code HTFHE092 while registering.

Heart Diseases Prediction using Machine Learning

Machine Learning is applied in a variety of fields all over the world. There is no exception in the healthcare industry. Machine Learning can help forecast the existence or absence of motor problems, heart ailments, and other diseases. Such information, if predicted in advance, can provide valuable insights to clinicians, allowing them to tailor their diagnosis and treatment to each individual patient.

As a result, preventing heart disease has become more important than ever. Good data-driven systems for predicting cardiac illnesses can help to improve the overall research and preventive process, allowing more individuals to live a healthy lifestyle. This is where Machine Learning enters the picture. Machine Learning aids in the prognosis of heart illnesses, and the results are precise.

The project included data processing and analysis of a heart disease patient dataset. Then, using various techniques, several models were trained, and predictions were made. KNN, Decision Tree, Random Forest, SVM, and Logistic Regression are just a few examples.

To forecast the presence of cardiac disease in a patient, I employed a range of Machine Learning methods built in Python. This is a classification problem with a range of input features as parameters and a binary target variable for predicting whether heart disease is present or not.

  STEP 1- IMPORT LIBRARIES

There are many libraries available in python. I have included:
numpy: To work with arrays
pandas: To work with csv files and data frames
matplotlib: To create charts using pyplot.
train_test_split: To split the dataset into training and testing data

  STEP 2- IMPORT DATASET

Since I am using dataset which is already present on Kaggle. So, I have downloaded it Link. There are many datasets available online you can use that also. Next, I have use
read_csv ()
to read dataset and save it to some variable (I have used “set” variable)

Before any analysis its good to take all information of what your whole dataset consists off to have an optimal model. So, I have used the
info ()
method.

As you can see from the output above, there are a total of 13 features and 1 target variable, as well as no missing values, so there are no null values to worry about... LUCKY!!

  STEP 3- UNDERSTANDING THE DATA

Correlational Matrix

Its very important to understand your data. So, to begin with, let’s start by looking at the feature correlation matrix and attempting to analyze it.
rcParams
is used to set the figure size .The correlation matrix was then visualized using
pyplot
. I've added names to the correlation matrix using
xticks
and
yticks
.
.colorbar()
displays the matrix's
colorbar
.

By looking that this it's clear that no single feature has a particularly strong relationship with our desired value. In addition, some traits have a negative association with the goal value, while others have a positive correlation.

Histogram

The nicest aspect about this type of plot is that it only requires one command to generate the plots and it returns a wealth of information. Simply type
variable.hist()
into your command.

Graphical Representation of relation between Attributes:

We observed that there are 207 men and 96 women data provided in the dataset.

We notice that females are more likely to have heart problems than males.

We notice ,that chest pain of '0', i.e. the ones with typical angina are much less likely to have heart problems.

We realize that people with restecg '1' and '0' are much more likely to have a heart disease than with restecg '2'.

People with exang=1 i.e. Exercise induced angina are much less likely to have heart problems.

We observe that Slope '2' causes heart pain much more than Slope '0' and '1'.

  STEP 4-USE MACHINE LEARNING ALGORITHMS

In this project, I picked four algorithms and experimented with their various settings before comparing the results. I divided the dataset into two parts: training data and testing data.

1.Logistic Regression

Logistic regression is a statistical analysis approach for predicting a data value based on previous data set measurements. In the field of machine learning, logistic regression has become an important technique. The method enables a machine learning application to classify incoming data using an algorithm based on historical data.

As you can see, my training accuracy is 86.79% and testing accuracy 86.81%

2.K-nearest neighbors

This classifier searches for the classes of a data point's K closest neighbors and assigns a class to that data point based on the majority class. The number of neighbors, on the other hand, can be modified. I varied the number of neighbors from one to twenty and calculated the test score in each case.

As you can see, my training accuracy is 86.79% and testing accuracy is 86.81% same as of logistic regression.

3.Support Vector machine

By altering the distance between the data points and the hyperplane, this classifier seeks to construct a hyperplane that can divide the classes as much as feasible. The hyperplane is determined depending on several kernels.

As you can see my training accuracy is 93.40% and testing accuracy is 87.91%

STEP 5-CONCLUSION

The project involved analysis of the heart disease patient dataset with proper data processing. Then, 3 models were trained and tested with maximum scores as follows:

Form the comparison study; it is observed that the Support Vector Machine model turned out to be best classifier for heart disease prediction.

Thank you for reading!! Feel free to share your thoughts and ideas.😄✨

Hi everyone, let me introduce myself.

  var iframe = document.getElementById('tweet-1433417887490977795-830');
  if (document.body.className.includes('dark-theme')) {

  }

I'm Bailey Luu, a 3rd year Computer Security student at York University. I am a Hackathon Evangelist at Hack This Fall. ElleHacks was my first hackathon in Feb 2020 and I had no experience of any tech stack except Java. One of our teammates have experience in Figma and that's how I know a new tech stack. Fast forward to the present, I become more active in hackathon community after I joined Blahajgang in Local Hack Day: Build and Local Hack Day: Share, hosted by Major League Hacking.

I have opportunities to complete daily challenges with my friends, team up for the future hackathons and learn about Firebase and Google Cloud Platform. The reasons I tell you all of these because I want to emphasize that community is the best place for you to grow and make new connections with people from around the world. I would like to talk about Hack This Fall and why I love about it.

Hack This Fall is a 48 Hours Virtual Hackathon where we aim to promote hackers and help them nurture their new ideas and prototypes in various domains. Our motto, "Innovate For Good", is to involve more beginner hackers and support everyone to solve the shared problems of our society to bring a change in a revolutionary way.

For season 2, we are focusing on creating more learning opportunities along with building and solving. We will talk about various technologies, create awareness, encourage others, hack to contribute, and participate in many more exciting events & session. - HTF

For every Wednesday at 11:30 AM ET | 9 PM IST, @hackthisfalldev hosts #HTFConnect on HTF's discord for hackers to learn, network, and share.

  What people learnt at HTFConnect 🤝

First HTFConnect!

We got to introduce ourself and meet new people from around the world! One thing that Hack This Fall makes me excited about is the diversity. I get to learn people from Malawi, Vadodara, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and many more.

Second HTFConnect!

One of the discussions were about how people feel towards LinkedIn such as feeling stressful when someone post about swags or achievements. People are facing imposter syndrome, doubting their own abilities. Although LinkedIn helps people to find jobs but it has side effects. After I listened to people's perspective towards LinkedIn, it gave me an idea for Hackathon project. During Build a Modern Data App hackathon hosted by AngelHack and DataStax, our team built a website called LetsShill that allows people to share their projects and learn from getting feedbacks from others. Since LinkedIn is a professional website, it doesn't give people who are beginner an opportunity to show off their projects. LetsShill allows people from different experience levels to show their projects publicly. You can view our project on Replit, we still need to add additional feature. If I didn't join HTFConnect, I would not have built LetsShill and would not have won the category, "First 30 Quality Submissions".

Fourth HTFConnect!

  // Detect dark theme
  var iframe = document.getElementById('tweet-1435653947528663043-376');
  if (document.body.className.includes('dark-theme')) {
    iframe.src = "https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?id=1435653947528663043&theme=dark"
  }

Shivay Lamba joined as our special guest, GSoC mentor, to guide us about Google Summer of Code (GSOC) and Open Source Contributions!

Things I Takeaway

GSOC is a global program that focused on bringing more student developers into open source software development.

Students will write a proposal about their programming project and if get accepted, they will work with open source organization for 10 weeks.

Matters is your proposal. If you truly understand your project, have a clear vision, and understand your contribution, you're good.

For your proposal, the judges will consider if you have contribute to open source before, the activeness, what have you done so far, describe how you feel about solving/contribute that specific project. Guide on Writing a Proposal

Google wants students to get inspired, become self reliance.

  Speaker Session and What People Learnt 🗣️

  Dear performant app by Nishu Goel

  // Detect dark theme
  var iframe = document.getElementById('tweet-1433467003168169991-878');
  if (document.body.className.includes('dark-theme')) {
    iframe.src = "https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?id=1433467003168169991&theme=dark"
  }

Things I Takeaway

Optimizing the application as much as we can.

Use Web.dev to analyze the website's performance and how to improve the performance.

First Contentful Paint (FCP): the time the application takes to load on the browser for the first time. Good FCP is 1.8s and bad FCP is 3s.

There are 3 Core Web Vitals which are loading, interactivity, visual stability and they use metrics such as Largest Contentful Paint, First Input Delay, and Cumulative Layout Shift, essential to delivering a great user experience on the web.

Largest Contentful Paint (LCP): the largest time your application could take for the first content successful render. Good LCP is 2.5s, bad LCP is 4s.

First Input Delay (FID): the first time the user interacted their video application, a click, a hover, what was the response of the browser, how much did it took. Good FID is 100 ms, bad FID is 300 ms.

Cumulative layout shift (CLS): a measure of the largest burst of layout shift scores for every unexpected layout shift that occurs during the entire lifespan of a page. Good CLS is 0.1s, bad CLS is 0.25s.

Improve LCP by using inline critical CSS, inline fonts, optimize files (use imagemin, use CDN, responsive images, newer formats (webp, jpeg2000)

Improve FID by deferring unused JavaScript (code splitting, async/defer). For example, only load the Login module if the user click the Login page.

Improve CLS by giving dimensions to images, iframe, elements, and only show the content when the user is expecting it.

  Build a Twitter UI Clone using React JS by Praveen Kumar

    iframe.src = "https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?id=1434761567808090115&theme=dark"
  }

Things I Takeaway

Using CodeSandBox to code ReactJS application.

Using SassMeister to translate SASS to CSS.

Using Bootstrap to build responsive website

After looking all the Twitter's posts about speaker sessions, it makes me want to join more sessions and learn! Do check out HTF's Schedule for future sessions!

  Reasons why I love about Hack This Fall

Speaker sessions are teaching hackers and inspire hackers to teach others. The sessions can help hackers to get ready for the Hack This Fall which will take place from October 22 at 12 PM IST-24, 2021.

HTFConnect encourages hackers to step outside of the box, learn from one another and share what they learn.

Get SWAGS by participating the speaker sessions and HTFConnect. You can get free digital swags on HTF's Swag Page

Date of Event -: 25 September 2021
Time: 10:00 P.M.
Meeting Host -: Eshan Gupta
Topic-: All about Hackathons & doubts,counselling session.

Hey,
So this was the first event that was conducted by me at VIT, Vellore and the session/event gained approximate 60+ participants and was of approximately of 2.5 hrs.

The event was really successful according to me as I was able to clear all the doubts that students had by the end of the session. Not only this the students were also very thankful to the host for organising such a session.

Later on students demanded for two more sessions in the coming days and I being the host also definetly plan to keep these events shortly. The topics for the demanded events were-:

Topic 1-: Introduction to Open Source and Github

Topic 2-: Introduction to LinkedIn

We had a loot of fun while the event lasted and many of the attendess approached and got connected with me after the event. Really it was a very nice experience guiding so many students at one time.

The event was successfull and I also told all the students about the Importance of Hackathons and that there is not a loot of knowledge required for attending any Hackathon.Some of the other topics that were discussed during the session are-:

Importance of Hackathons

What is HackThisFall?

Advantage of taking part in HackThisFall

Doubts related to VIT, Vellore

Tech Stacks to choose for coming years

Thats all that happened in the event and to sum up I really enjoyed conducting and handling so many people at a time.

THANKYOU😎
Eshan Gupta
