Professional : Had a meeting to start the day about the project that I'll be focusing on for the next few weeks. I got some ideas for things I can make for it. Had an all employee meeting right after. Cool to see what the company is up to. For the rest of the day, I worked on getting some tickets in a good stopping place so I can run them by my manager for the final okay.
Personal : Last night, I did the last bit of finishing work on the orders. Now I'm just waiting to hear back about which box they want the items in. For the rest of the night, I worked on the projects I picked up on Bandcamp and put together the social media posts.

Since my UV printer is working, I'm revisiting an old prototype that I was testing for folks. My machine broke and I wasn't able to complete it then and this new order came in so I wanted to finish that first. I ran the prototype order with one of the old test bases I created and it didn't come out that great. I changed the model and printed another test base, but the 3D print wasn't really smooth, but I'm running it through the UV printer anyway to see what happens. I flipped the base over so that the top is now on the bottom and it should come out a lot smoother. Takes like 45 minutes so I'm going to work on the radio show. I haven't had a chance to watch any of the new season of "The Boys" so I'm going to try and make that happen before going to bed.

Day 1350 : Energy

Professional : Pretty chill day. I was still mentally tired from the workshop from yesterday so I didn't really do any coding in the start of the day. I had a few meetings and replied to some questions in my company's channel and also the Discord of the folks I did the workshop with. After that I had the energy to work on a ticket. So I added a new field to the application I made for creating coding exercises and tested it out. I also got started on another ticket that I want to complete tomorrow. There's one other ticket in the epic that I need to be able to complete it. Going to see if I can knock it out tomorrow also. I already did some work on it before I shifted focus to the workshops.
Personal : Last night, I completed all the finishing work for this order. Now I just need to package the items and get them ready to be shipped to the client. I sent them 2 options for boxes, so I'm waiting to hear back so I can use my laser to add some designs. I also started going through Bandcamp for projects to pick up and other tracks for the radio show.

One of the last filaments that I ordered is actually really close to the color of the vinyl. My next step is to try and print a sample, but not tonight. I'm going to eat dinner, pick up projects on Bandcamp, get social media posts together and work on the radio show. I want to get in a couple "The Boys" episodes before calling it a night.

Day 1349 : Take It Easy

Professional : Today was the day for part 2 of my workshop. Tested it out in the morning before a meeting and it worked. There was a weird new pop-up from the GitHub Codespaces asking me to log into VS Code or something. Had to figure that out. Then I had like 3 meetings back to back and of course they ran over. haha I had to rush to get everything ready for the live stream. The workshop went well! Folks were able to get the application up and running. I ran into an issue so I spun up another Codespace and speed ran the workshop again in like 5 minutes and it worked! It was a good time. Afterwards, I was exhausted and had to take a break for the rest of the day. haha.
Personal : Last night, I went through some tracks for the radio show. I also looked around Bandcamp for projects to pick up this week. After that, I spent some time to tighten up the workshop I gave today just to make sure stuff made sense. Ended the night watching the new episode of Daredevil.

Going to take it easy for the rest of the night. I've finished creating the order. Now it's just some finishing work and packaging. I ran out of the item I used for finishing up the order, but it looks like they were just delivered with another box option I want to show to the client to see which they prefer. I'm thinking I may spend a little more time in the shed completing the order and showing the client the packaging options. That way, I only need to do the packaging for tomorrow and get everything ready to ship this weekend. We'll see. Going to get to work and then eat dinner. The new season of "The Boys" dropped. I'll probably watch an episode or 2 before going to bed.

Day 1348 : In The Middle

Professional : Today was pretty chill and productive. I had a meeting with another team that will also be creating coding exercises so I walked them through the setup I made and have been using. They were able to get everything running. If they have any questions, they can always reach out to me. Plus we have a bunch of other exercises that they can look at as examples. Spent the rest of the day working on this workshop for tomorrow. Making sure I know what I'm talking about.
Personal : Last night, I spent some time in the shed working on this order. After that, spent the rest of the time filing my taxes late into the night. It gives me such anxiety every time! Good news is that the filing was accepted. Went to bed exhausted! haha.

Got the last batch of prints for tonight finishing up. Almost got all the items created. Just need to do some finishing work. Looks like I'll run out of an item, but I put in an order yesterday so it should be here tomorrow. Some other stuff I ordered should be coming in today and tomorrow. I should be able to have everything shipped out this week. I thought of another box that I could put the items in, so I'm waiting for them to come in so I can take pictures and let the client decide which one they would like. Happy with how things are turning out. I think the client will be really satisfied with everything. I already sent out part of the order last week. Haven't heard anything back yet. After this, I'll put a little more work into to this workshop to make sure that I'm good for tomorrow. Maybe listen to some tracks for the radio show and see what I want to pick up on Bandcamp this week. To end the night, I may watch an episode of the new "Malcom In The Middle" show that just came out.

Day 1347 : Hold On

Saturday : Got up early and did some work in the shed getting this order together. Made some good progress. Thought about some new ways to enhance the packaging. Sent my idea to the customer and they liked it. Then I headed to the station. I made a stop to check the PO Box to pick up some vinyl I purchased from an artist. Made it to the studio and got set up. Sunday : Pretty good and productive day! Did my study sessions and did more work on completing this order.
Professional : Spent the first part of my day creating the coding exercise for my workshop this week. I got some really good feedback on the one last week. Incorporating it into this workshop. Got enough of it done before my meeting with my manager for them to test it out. They were able to get it up and running and completed the exercise. We spoke about some other things coming up. After that, I ate lunch. Came back, responded to a community question and spent the rest of the day working on the coding exercise. Should be completed by tomorrow.
Personal : I thought of a couple of new products I could create and collaborate with a group we've been playing on the radio show for years. I wasn't sure if I could actually make it, so I asked Google Gemini to do a feasibility report with Deep Research. Turns out that it is possible and even gave me a couple of things I could try that I didn't know about. Got my machines running to create the items for this order. I should be able to get them shipped out this week. I'm thinking that I can actually use smaller boxes for the packaging. Placed an order so I'll be testing that out this week.

Writing this blog post while I'm waiting for this last batch of the night to finish printing. Got some finishing work to do once they are done. After that, my sole focus is to file my taxes! haha I don't know why I always hold on till the last minute. This will also be the first time I'm filing taxes for my new business I started last year. I definitely put way more money in from my savings than that I actually made. haha We'll see how it goes. Going to get started.

Day 1346 : Solid Ground

Professional : Pretty chill day of meetings, responding to community questions and working on my workshop next week. Went by really quickly.
Personal : Got part of this order completed and packed to be shipped out today. Went through some projects on Bandcamp. It got pretty late and I went to bed.

Working on the other part of the order. It should take me a couple of days to complete. Some of the filament I ordered came in and I loaded them in the machines and got them printing now. Should be done in under an hour from now. I want to keep my UV printer printing so that it doesn't clog. The 7" records came in today also! The look really good. Now that they are here, I feel like I have solid ground to be able to build the other items in the limited edition package around it. I can actually see the color of the vinyl and artwork printed out. I'll start getting prototypes created. Also going to pick the Bandcamp projects for this week and put together the social media posts for tomorrow. This week has flown by! Got some stuff accomplished though. Going to spend some time and get a couple of times in this order completed, then eat dinner and get to my other tasks for the night.

Day 1345 : The Package

Professional : Today consisted of researching and responding to a community question. Then had a meeting with some team members for the project I've been working on. Afterwards, I prepped for my workshop. The workshop went well, I think. It was virtual/online so I couldn't see any faces. People said they were following along and had a good time. We had a little technical difficulties at the start, but I was able to get through everything with only going over time just a little bit. By the end of the workshop, I was drained mentally and physically. I was basically a vegetable for the rest of the day. haha Still got another workshop next week.
Personal : Last night, I spent some time in the evening to get a lot done with this order. Got quite a bit done. When it got pretty dark outside, I locked up the shed and headed inside to eat dinner and get back to work. I went through tracks on Bandcamp for the radio show. I also created a prototype for another project I've been working on. I used some conductive tape that I ordered and it worked fine for what I wanted to use it for. Pretty good night.

Posting this blog a little late because I spent the time after work to finish up a part of this order so I can ship it out tomorrow. Going to work on the rest of the order and get it done and get the package shipped next week. Some new equipment came in. One of them, I want to use for this prototype's packaging. I'm tired. Going to eat dinner and go to sleep.

Day 1344 : Carry On

Professional : Pretty chill day. Made some more progress on the coding exercise I started yesterday. There's a custom option that I wasn't sure if I could get working, but I did. Had a couple of meetings. One I got some clarity on a project and what I need to change. It's just some CSS so it shouldn't be too terrible, especially since I implemented editing and updating projects. Spent the rest of the day making sure my workshop tomorrow is good to go. It's been rainy and cold all day so it made it difficult to get a lot of stuff done.
Personal : Last night, I reworked a model for an upcoming project. I also came across a little $30 machine that I can use for another project's packaging. If it works, I'll be able to really step up some of my products. So I watched a bunch of reviews and placed an order.

I really need to do my taxes, both personal and business. Going to go through and get all the forms needed so I can knock it out tomorrow. I've been playing around with the UV laser's settings and seeing the outcomes on this material I'll be using in this next project. I'm getting the current order knocked out. Almost got one of the products completed. Going to spend a little more time into the evening to see how far I can get. I'll also be changing up the model I was working on last night now that I know how things are fitting. Going to carry on working this order, eat dinner and work on other tasks.

Day 1343 : Never Give Up

Saturday : Pretty normal Saturday. Did the radio show and had a good time as usual. The recording of this week's show is at https://kNOwBETTERHIPHOP.com

Sunday : Pretty productive day! I printed out some test prints for the order to make sure everything still works. It does! I created a jig so that I can place the items in the jig so that the prints always are in the same place on the items. I printed it on the 3D printer that I moved the filaments from the top to the side and it printed fine for the whole 4 hours it took to complete. I also tested the UV laser on customizing the packaging for the orders. I took a bunch of pictures and videos and sent them to the client to get feedback.
Professional : Only had one meeting today. Responded to a community question. Started a new sample application that I will then turn into a coding exercise. I never really used the feature before, so it took me a second to wrap my mind around it. I've learned to never give up and just went through the documentation. I got a lot of it done, but there was one part that I wasn't sure about. The meeting I had was with my manager and we spent some time throwing ideas back and forth. Classic rubber ducking. haha Through that, it gave me an idea of how I could get the information and then send it. Worked on that and after a few iterations, I was able to get it to work! I'll clean it up tomorrow but I have a better understanding of the feature and can now create a coding exercise and point out the things I ran into so that another person won't run into the same issues I did.
Personal : Pretty happy with how the order is coming along. I'm going to work on one part tomorrow and get it ready to ship this week while I work on the other parts. I've got other projects in the works at various stages of completion. Feels good to have all these things happening, just need more time. haha.

Got an email saying that the vinyl for this project got shipped, but I have no tracking number. Hope it will show up tomorrow. They said the order was completed like 2 weeks ago and I paid the balance that day. Not sure what took so long to get it shipped though. I just want to get them so I can start putting together everything for the release. I need to finish up the items that will come with it. I'll work on it while this current order is printing. There's a prototype I'm looking to get done this week also. I'm real close to figuring out how to encapsulate everything into one container. Got some stuff I ordered for these projects coming in tomorrow. The boulder is starting to move and I want to keep it rolling as long as I can. I'm out. Going to eat dinner and work on some 3D models for these projects.

Day 1342 : Slow Tonight

Professional : Today flew by! I responded to some community questions. Finished up a training that I missed some modules when I went through it the first time at the conference I was working. I must have been really tired. So yeah, I did the training and dove head first in this next coding exercise. I've never really used this functionality of one of our products so I had to look though the documentation. The thing is that we don't have a sample application for this coding exercise so I need to do it from scratch and then create the coding exercise. Next thing I know, the day is over.
Personal : Last night, picked up the projects on Bandcamp and put together the start tracks for the radio show. I was also thinking through a new project that I could offer. Watched some videos and read some documentation on how to replace some parts in one of my machine and then I went to sleep.

During lunch, I replaced the parts in my machine. Because I watched the videos and read some documentation, I was able to get it done pretty quickly. After work, I initialized the machine. I printed a few test prints and a color didn't work properly. I ran all types of cleaning. It got better little by little. I replaced the ink for the color with a fresh new one. Still really didn't work. I sent a message to the company's support page and even posted to the community forum with some pictures I took. I read through some posts and saw some suggestions other folks had previously offered and tried those. Between that and the stuff replied to my post, I got the color to print properly, but I kept getting an issue with a design. I figured I would just print the design on a test 3D print. So I did that and it worked! The issue didn't appear. Glad that it seems to be working. I need it for the order I got. Speaking of the order, I think I have enough filament to fulfill it, but to make sure I signed up for a notification for the colors at the manufacturer's site because they are always out of stock! As I was packing up and leave the shed, I got the email that the colors I want are in stock! I turned back on my laptop and went to the page and for some reason, my computer restarted. Awesome. The laptop restarts, I go to the page again and put 10 of each color into my shopping cart. Great. Apparently I wasn't logged in and when I log in, my shopping cart is empty. Nice. I put in 10 of each color again, then the past shopping cart items where there so it was double. I remove the extras and try to check out. The site says that some orders are sold out! HUH?! I go back to the shopping cart and one of the colors went from 10 to 6. Sure, great let me order. So I finally get through the order process and get confirmation that my order is placed. I go back to the product page and sure enough, the color is out of stock. In less than like 5 minutes it sold out. I should have more than enough currently, but I would be cutting it close and this store stays out of stock for months. The good news is that I think I found a filament that came in today where the color comes really close to the one that just sold out. I may use that for the single pieces and the stock that I have for the ones that are multiple pieces because they need to match. Oh and while all this was happening I had Google Gemini doing some deep research on that project idea I had. So yeah, I'm starting my weekend off really late but I got stuff done which is great. Good thing I got the starter tracks picked out and I'm ahead on other work for the radio show. Going to finish that up soon. I'll probably end the night looking over the report Google Gemini created about the feasibility of my idea. Going to take it slow tonight. I'm out! Professional : Today was pretty good. Had our team meeting and spoke about some things coming up. After that, we had our greater DevRel team meeting. I did a recap of the event I went to last week with some results. I tested the coding exercise that I uploaded and processed yesterday. It loaded with no problem and the setup script worked. I had to make some changes to the actual sample application code to get it all working properly. There was only like 3 things I needed to modify. I edited the coding exercise files, uploaded them to get processed and that was it. Ended the day doing a couple of modules in a training that it looks like I missed.
Personal : Whew... I didn't get much done at all last night. I don't know if it was because I was tired or what, but I caught caught in a doom scroll session on social media. I was able to get all the social media posts created for the projects I'm picking up this week on Bandcamp. I also watched the 2 new episodes of Daredevil. Really good so far.

Need to pay my bills for the month. Going to actually purchase the projects on Bandcamp and put together the playlist for the radio show this week. I just got some inspiration for another product I can make. It's similar to something else I was working on and I want to see if Google Gemini can help me walk through my thought process to make sure it's viable. Almost fell down the rabbit hole again. OMG! haha Going to eat dinner and get started with my night. Tomorrow I'm hoping to get the part replaced on my UV printer so I can get this job going..

Day 1340 : Rocket Fuel

Professional : Before calling it a day yesterday, I looked at my calendar and saw that I had like 5 meetings back to back today. haha After the first one, I noticed that the one after disappeared from my calendar. Cool. I checked out the community channel and forwarded questions from a user to the relevant team. I think I knew the answers, but I wanted to double check. I continued my quest to do the dependency updates in a repo with a bunch of projects. Then it was time for my next meeting. That went pretty well. Then I noticed that the meeting after that was moved to another date. Cool. Went to work on the coding exercise that I started yesterday. Got pretty far. It helps that I was able to use a previous coding exercise I made as a starting point. I had lunch. Got back and continued updating dependencies. There was like over 300 yesterday and I was able to knock it down to just 2. I think I may need to find another library since the one there hasn't been updated in a while. Had my last meeting of the day concerning an online workshop that I'll be giving next week. Went pretty well. Spent the rest of the day finishing up the coding exercise and uploaded it so that it could be processed with the GitHub Action I put together. Going to test it out tomorrow. This morning I thought I would be in meetings all day and not get anything done.
Personal : Yesterday I did a bunch of test prints on different materials using my UV laser to see what I can achieve. I also worked on some social media posts for the radio show. I also got some measurements for a project I've been working on.

I've had the NASA live stream for the Artemis II in the background pretty much all day from when they were filling the ship with rocket fuel. When the rocket launched, I went outside and was totally looking in the wrong direction and when I turned around I only saw a trail of smoke. haha I picked the projects on Bandcamp that I'll be purchasing this week. I'll purchase them tomorrow, but I'll get the social media posts ready tonight. I want to watch a couple of videos on how to replace the print head of my UV printer so I can work on that tomorrow. I was able to take off the filament holder that looked like it was about to fall over and put it in another holder I printed that will sit it next to the printer instead of on top of it. Going to try and use it to print something tomorrow. Going to get to work and see if I can get done early so I can watch the 2 new episodes of Daredevil before calling it a night.
