I Fixed a Bug at 2 AM — Here’s What I Learned About Real Development

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of chasing a bug at 2 AM. I was working on a small pet project — a simple API and some backend logic — when a single issue broke everything. Requests failed, data mismatched, and every fix seemed to create a dozen new problems. It was chaotic, frustrating… and oddly enlightening.

That’s when I realized. Real-world bugs teach more than any textbook or tutorial ever could. You learn to debug under pressure, reason through complex logic, and anticipate edge cases — skills that only come from hands-on experience.

To structure my learning, I joined a free practical program that focused on building real projects, not just theory. I collaborated with other developers, got mentor feedback, and completed exercises that mirrored production workflows. It was intense, sometimes messy, but incredibly valuable.

Looking back, the most important lesson wasn’t the tech itself — it was learning how to approach problems, get feedback, and iterate under real constraints.

Now, programs like this exist again. For example, the WhiteBIT Global Talent Program is starting soon. It’s designed for Ukrainian developers based in Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, or Slovakia, giving hands-on experience on real infrastructure, guidance from senior engineers, and — the most exciting part — the chance to finish the program with an actual job offer at WhiteBIT.

So if you’re passionate about coding, ready to commit, and want to combine real-world learning with career opportunities, focus on building, shipping, and learning by doing. Sometimes, the bugs you dread the most end up being your greatest teachers.

Bear Markets Are for Builders - Not Speculators

BTC has dropped to levels not seen since 2024. From the peak, the market is already down ~30%, liquidity is tight, funds are under pressure, and sentiment remains heavy.

I previously shared a post titled “How to Survive a BTC Bear Market”, and the core idea remains unchanged: bear markets are not about predicting the bottom - they’re about positioning and survival.

🟢 Market Entry Approaches

There’s no universal strategy - it depends on risk tolerance and psychology:

▪ HODL - for long-term believers who can withstand deep drawdowns.
▪ DCA - reduces timing risk and emotional decisions.
▪ Hybrid - buying dips during volatility and moments of panic.

🟢 Separate Your Capital

Your safety buffer should never be the same capital you plan to deploy into risk assets. Mixing these roles often leads to forced decisions at the worst time.

🟢 What to Do With Idle Funds

Leaving cash completely idle for months isn’t always optimal either. Some investors temporarily park stablecoins in crypto lending/staking while waiting for clearer market conditions. For example:

▪ WhiteBIT offers fixed-term Crypto Lending with rates up to 18.64%, and for new users there’s currently USDT promotional pool with APR 221%.
▪ Binance Earn provides more conservative USDT yields, typically around 4.2%–7.27%.

🟢 Signs a Bottom May Be Forming
▪ Weakening downside momentum
▪ Extreme negative sentiment
▪ Price reclaiming long-term levels

The goal isn’t to buy the exact bottom - it’s to still have capital, clarity, and conviction when the next bull cycle begins.

DYOR. Stay solvent. Stay ready.

From Pet Project to My First Bitcoin Product: Lessons from the Field 🚀

A few months ago, my LinkedIn still said: “Software Developer.” I was coding, building small pet projects, exploring new frameworks… but I had zero hands-on experience with real crypto products. I knew the theory, dabbled with side experiments, but nothing I built was actually on-chain or used by real users.

I kept asking myself: “How do I move from hobby projects to building products that actually matter in crypto?”

I started researching opportunities in the Web3 space, reviewing multiple programs, courses, and workshops. And then I came across some compelling data from Blockchain Reporter that reframed my perspective:

Globally, there are only about 10,000 full-time blockchain developers in 2025, people actively building Web3 products.

Just 10,000 full-time devs worldwide — and the majority are concentrated in the US and Asia, with Europe representing a smaller but growing segment. That number made me think: “If the global pool of builders is this small, every contribution has real impact. Every project I work on could actually matter.”

That’s when I discovered the WhiteBIT Global Talent Program, which starts this March. After reviewing multiple options, this program really stood out to me because:

Live, interactive sessions, not passive lectures, but solving real tasks applied to production environments 🖥

Team-based delivery — your code and ideas contribute directly to product development 👥

Mentorship from seasoned engineers — guidance from professionals who ship scalable crypto systems, debug critical issues under pressure, and build products used by thousands 😎

Production-grade experience — tasks executed on infrastructure serving real users, not just sandbox exercises ⚡

If you’re serious about crypto, Web3, and meaningful dev experience, now is the time to jump in too.

For developers serious about Web3, this is a unique chance to bridge the gap between knowing how to code and building products that actually matter. With so few full-time blockchain developers worldwide, the skills you gain here will be in high demand.

And the best part? After 4 months, there’s a real pathway to a job offer at WhiteBIT. This isn’t just a learning program — it’s career-launching, skill-shaping, and product-driven.

See you in the sessions! 😉

Eastern Europe: An Emerging Blockchain Hub for Developers

Eastern Europe is quickly becoming one of the most active regions in the world for crypto adoption and blockchain development — not just in terms of trading, but in building real products.

According to the Global Crypto Adoption Index 2025, Ukraine ranks among global leaders in grassroots crypto adoption, while Moldova and Belarus also appear in the global top-20. This reflects a deeper trend: the region is increasingly focused on engineering, experimentation, and innovation, not speculation.

Data from Chainalysis supports this shift. Crypto markets across Europe continue to expand, with Ukraine and Poland showing over 50% growth in on-chain activity, indicating growing real-world usage.

The momentum is reinforced by large-scale industry events.

🔹 Eastern Europe’s largest blockchain conference - Crypto Expo Europe 2026 - returns to Bucharest on March 1–2, 2026, already gathering 3,000+ participants and featuring panels on DeFi, NFTs, and Web3 startups. These events play an important role in connecting developers, founders, and infrastructure teams.

🔹 Romania alone had around 1 million active crypto users by 2025, with forecasts pointing toward 5+ million digital asset holders in the coming years.

🔹 Ukraine stands out not only for adoption metrics, but for technical talent. Many Ukrainian developers are already contributing to global crypto infrastructure — and the number continues to grow.

One practical example is the WhiteBIT Global Talent Program, starting on March 2, 2026.

This is a 4-month, hands-on program focused on real engineering work:

building and shipping code used by millions of users
working inside real product teams
receiving mentorship from experienced backend and Web3 engineers

The key difference: it’s not a bootcamp or a theory-heavy course. It’s a direct pathway into production work, with the opportunity for Ukrainian developers to receive a job offer at WhiteBIT upon completion.

If you’re a developer looking to move into Web3 in a structured way, this is a path worth considering.

From my point of view, this is one of the most realistic entry points into Web3 for Ukrainian developers — including those who are early in their careers.

You don’t need to be a crypto veteran. You need:
solid fundamentals
willingness to learn
and the ability to build consistently

Eastern Europe is no longer just consuming crypto products.

It’s producing talent.

📈 Stop Waiting, Start Spending: Off-Ramp Explained

What did you do 7 years ago when you needed to pay for something with crypto? Of course, back then there were P2P - but honestly, who hasn’t run into problems with sellers?

Sure, today we have crypto cards that make BTC$BTC payments easier, but for larger purchases?

Like when I needed to buy a new inverter for my business - paying directly with crypto is nearly impossible, especially if the seller doesn’t accept it.

I’ve written about this before, but just the other day I had to do it again - and it reminded me how useful Off-Ramp can be. I decided to share this because I’m sure some of you will find it just as handy as I did.

I rely on Off-Ramp on WhiteBIT. For those unfamiliar, Off-Ramp is essentially a bridge from your crypto wallet to cash, allowing withdrawals to bank accounts, cards, or other payment methods.

😎 Key benefits for me:

🟩 Transfers typically process in minutes.
🟩 Fixed €5 fee for deposits and withdrawals.
🟩 90+ pairs with EUR support
🟩 Institutional clients can handle single transactions up to €100K with customizable limits.
🟩 All transactions go through a regulated, compliant platform.

With Off-Ramp, moving €30K might sound complicated - but in reality, it’s simple. A few clicks, and the funds are on my bank account, ready for the purchase. I’m hoping that these investments for my business will pay off, and later I can easily convert €90K back through Off-Ramp when needed.

🔥 Ready to convert your crypto to fiat quickly and easily? Fill out the application for Off-Ramp on WhiteBIT and start using your crypto in real life today.

How Much More Proof Before You Accept WBT Is Leading the Market?

WBT decided to remind the market what momentum actually looks like. After a +37% move in just four days, the asset pushed into a fresh local high near $55.8, drawing immediate attention across both short-term traders and longer-term participants.

To see how the community was pricing the next move, I launched a poll asking where WBT could be heading next. Out of 224 votes, 31.3% of respondents chose the $55-$70 range, 19.6% voted for $70+, and 30.4% went straight for $80+.

In this article, I’ll break down what each of these levels could realistically mean for WBT under different market conditions - starting from the current technical picture and then moving into the scenarios behind each target.

Technical View: Current Market Structure & Scenarios

WhiteBIT Chart: WBT/USDT (1D)

WBT is trading near $60.75, firmly above the short- and mid-term trend markers - EMA9 at $55.60 and EMA26 at $51.79 - preserving a clearly bullish structure. Price is moving in the upper zone of the Bollinger Bands (middle at $53.63, upper at $59.77), signalling that buyers remain dominant after the recent breakout attempt toward the $64 area.

Daily volume sits at 236.31K, elevated compared to previous quiet phases. The MACD is gaining strength again: the MACD line (3.003) is above the signal line (2.642) with a positive histogram (0.361). Momentum is rebuilding, indicating renewed buying pressure rather than exhaustion.
As long as WBT holds above the $57–$59 short-term support band, the broader bullish trend remains intact.

Scenario 1: $55–$70 (31.3%)

This range fits naturally with the present setup. Maintaining levels above $57-$59 keeps the trend structure healthy. The mid-line around $53.63 acts as the main cushion on retracements - brief dips into this zone do not shift the bias if reclaimed quickly. Under current conditions, this is still the most direct continuation path.

Scenario 2: $70+ (19.6%)

Pushing toward $70+ requires a decisive break above the current ceiling and, more importantly, the ability to stabilize there. With momentum softening, WBT will likely need stronger volume or a volatility expansion to build upward continuation. Firm consolidation above resistance would confirm renewed strength. Otherwise, the asset is likely to oscillate within the $60–$72 channel.

Scenario 3: $80+ (30.4%)

The $80+ route assumes a stronger expansion phase. This would require a clean move beyond the upper volatility boundary near $59.77 followed by a consistent pattern of higher highs and higher lows. A renewed MACD shift and rising volume would strengthen this case. This scenario remains possible in a supportive market, though the current setup suggests it may need an additional catalyst.

Fundamental Context: What Supports These Scenarios

WBT’s position inside the WhiteBIT ecosystem helps explain why mid- and high-range targets appeared in the poll. According to CoinDesk, the token’s market capitalization is currently around $11.3B as of 17 November 2025. Its liquidity profile remains consistently stable - a key requirement for larger players and institutional users who prioritize predictable execution over speculative volatility.

The broader ecosystem surrounding WBT also adds structural support. CoinCodex’s 2024 virtual capitalization analysis estimates WhiteBIT’s company valuation at roughly $39B, reflecting the scale the exchange has reached under Founder and President of WhiteBIT Group, Volodymyr Nosov. This expansion includes WhiteBIT’s strategic ambition to enter the US market, as highlighted by GN Crypto, a move that signals a long-term focus on regulatory compliance, institutional accessibility, and global competitiveness. Such growth strengthens the underlying infrastructure, deepens order books, and reinforces the WhiteBIT Coin's suitability for corporate registry and other structured-use environments, where steady depth and low slippage matter more than rapid price cycles.

These factors don’t dictate price on their own, but they form a durable backdrop that makes the mid- and upper-range poll scenarios structurally reasonable.

Final Take

The poll outlined clear expectations, and the current market structure shows how each target could become relevant under different conditions. Momentum remains intact, the trend is supported, and the ecosystem continues to develop in the background. None of this guarantees direction, but it sets the stage for whichever scenario the market chooses next.

🔍 How I Actually Got Into Web3 — as a Developer (From Real Experience)

Most people think you get into Web3 by “applying for a Web3 role.

That wasn’t my path at all.

My first break didn’t come from CVs, job boards or HR forms.
It came from people — from actually showing up where the industry lives.

🧩 From developer → to Web3 contributor

I came from the developer side originally. I wasn't even planning to “switch industries” — I was just curious about how blockchain changes product architecture and user ownership.

So I started attending every crypto meetup, hackathon, and conference I could physically reach. Not for jobs — for context.

That’s where I met the first founders, community leads, and protocol people I’m still in touch with today. And that’s also how I got into closed communities where roles don’t get published — they just circulate internally.

My first paid opportunity came not from applying… but from a recommendation.

✅ What actually works if you want to enter Web3

Here’s the real, unfiltered version for devs:

What people think works

What actually works

Sending CVs

Being present in communities

Submitting forms

Getting referred

Waiting for openings

Joining early-stage circles

Skills first

Network + visible skills

🌐 Where Web3 hiring really happens

💬 Discord / TG communities
🏛 DAO workgroups
🧠 Private masterminds
🧑‍💻 Hackathons / dev sessions
🤝 Meetups & closed speaker dinners

And yes — exchanges are a big part of this ecosystem too.

WhiteBIT, Bitget, OKX, Bybit etc. constantly host developer meetups, townhalls, open community calls, and product demos — and that’s usually where new opportunities appear first, long before they ever hit a careers page.

📈 The referral economy (Web3-style)

Unlike Web2, where referrals are just “employee bonuses,” in Web3 referrals are a network primitive.

WhiteBIT is a great example: their program “We make the hire – you get the reward” pays 200–1000 USDT simply for bringing in the right talent.

Your network literally becomes an income stream.

🛠️ And here’s the part devs don’t realize

The quickest way to get noticed in Web3 isn’t applying — it’s contributing.
join a repo
create a small PR
fix docs
write a simple script
help with an integration
show initiative before permission
That’s how founders actually remember you.

If I sum it up:

✔ Be present in the right rooms
✔ Build trust before you ask for a role
✔ Contribute before you apply
✔ Use meetups & communities as a hiring layer
✔ Referrals > job boards
✔ Web3 rewards visibility + initiative

You don’t need permission to enter Web3 —
you just need presence.

Why Your Favorite Tokens Don’t Crash Overnight — The Secret Role of Market Makers

New tokens are often subject to sharp price swings during launch. Without sufficient liquidity, even small buying or selling pressure can trigger significant drops — whether it’s BTC, SOL, TON, or any other popular token.

Take the launch of TON, for example. Despite high trading activity, there were no catastrophic price drops on day one. Volatility existed, of course, but with the right mechanisms in place, it was manageable.

The key? Market makers.

What Market Makers Do

Market makers are the backbone of a liquid and stable market. They continuously provide buy and sell orders, creating a buffer that smooths out sudden spikes in demand or supply.

By doing so, they:
Reduce slippage for traders
Stabilize prices across exchanges
Ensure tokens remain tradable at fair market rates

Think of them as the intermediaries that prevent chaos in otherwise volatile markets.

Tracking Market Maker Activity

Through my work in crypto analytics, I’ve observed that market makers tend to favor certain exchanges due to program structure and incentives. Two notable examples include:

📍 One of them is WhiteBIT, with 35M+ users and a capitalization of $39B according to CoinCodex. Its Market Making Program offers favorable conditions for market makers, where fees depend on maker transaction volumes over the past 30 days - up to -0.012% maker fees.

While market makers profit from capturing the spread between buy and sell orders, regular users get a smoother trading experience and lower costs. Some of my clients initially had problems like order delays, which could cost market makers money - yikes! WhiteBIT’s program solved this thanks to extra API perks, like:

Webhook notifications - for deposits, trading and main balance updates

WebSocket - real-time order book info so you never miss a beat

These tools allow market makers to operate efficiently, react quickly to market changes, and ensure price stability for users.

📍 Another notable option is BitMEX Market Maker Programme, which offers Regular and Senior MM Programs with six levels of market makers, whose earnings depend on monthly trading volumes.

For example, in the regular programme, a market maker who meets the trading requirements across a certain number of contract groups can be placed at Level 4. At this level, they receive rewards based on their maker volume, with a minimum reward floor, providing clear incentives to consistently supply liquidity. 🧩

Why It Matters

Programs like these are what help popular tokens remain relatively stable, minimizing large spreads between trading pairs or across exchanges. Without market makers, every small order could create unnecessary price swings, making trading riskier and less predictable.

💬 Interested in learning more about how market making impacts token prices and trading strategies? Feel free to reach out.

Leveraging Crypto Affiliate Programs to Drive Platform Engagement and Revenue

When most developers think about earning through crypto, Bitcoin often comes to mind first. But there are additional ways to create revenue streams that don’t rely on trading alone—affiliate programs are one such approach. These programs can generate income for a platform while requiring minimal effort from users.

Recently, I worked with an educational crypto platform to explore ways of integrating affiliate functionality. The goal was twofold: provide users with meaningful earning opportunities and simultaneously boost engagement on the platform.

Evaluating Exchange Affiliate Programs

We considered multiple exchange affiliate programs. The criteria were clear:
The program should offer a competitive commission structure.
The exchange needed to actively engage users with marketing initiatives and educational opportunities.

Option 1: OKX Affiliate Program

OKX offers up to 50% commission, 24/7 partner support, and support for sub-affiliates. While the program itself is technically solid, the exchange’s focus on user education and engagement was limited, which was a key requirement for our client.

Option 2: WhiteBIT Affiliate Program

WhiteBIT emerged as a better fit. It is the largest crypto exchange in Europe by traffic and maintains a market cap of $39B (per CoinCodex). The affiliate program offers up to 60% of trading fees, alongside structured marketing activities and referral promotions aimed at educating users while driving engagement.

Implementation and Results

After integrating WhiteBIT’s affiliate program, the platform introduced new functionality that allowed users to earn affiliate commissions in addition to the platform’s existing features.

Within three months, the platform reported:
30% increase in product sales
Additional revenue from affiliate commissions
The program also provided users with more reasons to explore the platform, increasing retention and engagement.

Takeaways

Affiliate programs are not just a tool for influencers—they can be integrated into platforms to:
Provide users with passive earning opportunities
Boost engagement through incentivized actions
Generate additional revenue without heavy infrastructure changes

From a technical standpoint, integrating an affiliate API is straightforward, but choosing a partner that aligns with your product’s goals—especially user education and engagement—can significantly impact outcomes.

Platforms that treat affiliate programs as a product feature rather than a marketing tactic can see measurable improvements in both user activity and revenue streams.

🚀 What If BTC Really Hits $1M In 10 Years?

I just came across an article that digs into this scenario - and it makes a strong point: waiting for the “perfect BTC dip” usually means missing the entire wave. The author shows how crypto already beats traditional finance in passive income, stability, convenience, and global adoption.

For example, staking through Bybit Earn can generate steady returns that banks simply don’t match. And WhiteBIT AutoInvest make it easy to build long-term capital without constant micromanagement: pick a cryptocurrency, decide how much to put in, and how often - that’s the whole process.

💡 Personally, I agree with the takeaway: crypto isn’t just speculation anymore, it’s about building real financial discipline and freedom. I’ve seen how consistent auto-invest strategies really do create stability over time - and that’s something traditional finance struggles to offer.

👉 Definitely worth a read if you’ve ever told yourself, “I’ll start later"

Because later often turns into a decade.

🏆 Affiliate Programs Aren’t Just for Influencers - Here’s Proof

Everyone thinks you can only earn from crypto through BTC$BTC, but there are far more opportunities. Imagine your platform generating extra income without any additional effort from users. Or better yet - don’t just imagine it, read on.

Recently, an educational crypto company (whose product I’ve personally tested - it’s really valuable!) reached out with a goal: to give users more ways to earn while also benefiting the platform.

📍 I suggested two exchange options for their affiliate program. The first was OKX Affiliate Program, which offered up to 50% commission, dedicated 24/7 partner support, and even the ability to work with sub-affiliates.

But for my client, two criteria were key: the exchange had to run marketing activities to engage users and provide learning opportunities so users could gain knowledge while earning.

🧩 The second option, and the one we ultimately chose - WhiteBIT Affiliate Program. It fits perfectly because it’s the biggest European crypto exchange by traffic, ideal for the company’s target locations and with a market cap of $39B according to CoinCodex.

As for the terms, WhiteBIT offered up to 60% of trading fees. 🔥 The key highlight we noticed was WhiteBIT’s marketing activities and special referral offers - exactly what the client needed to engage users and provide a meaningful learning experience.

🚀 Just 3 months later, the client reported a 30% increase in product sales thanks to the new functionality - plus extra revenue from affiliate commissions.

The takeaway? Affiliate programs aren’t just for influencers - they work for platforms too, boosting engagement and revenue.

According to the latest Crypto Wealth Report 2025 by Henley & Partners, as of June 2025, the number of $BTC millionaires worldwide has increased by 70% compared to the previous year, reaching 145,100 individuals.

The total number of crypto millionaires has grown by 40%, now totaling 241,700 people.

🔥 This trend reflects the growing interest in digital assets among high-net-worth investors. Some of the most notable crypto billionaires include:

💰 Fred Ehrsam - Co-Founder of Coinbase, with an estimated net worth of $2.93 billion.

💰 Volodymyr Nosov - Founder and President of WhiteBIT Group, with a net worth estimated at $6 - 7 billion.

💰 Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss - Founders of the Gemini crypto exchange, each with a personal wealth of approximately $2.7 billion.

To read more about these and other billionaires, check out the full article here.

🏆 And as for the fourth spot on this list… I’d like to be there too, but Finance Monthly hasn’t written about me yet. We’ll see next time!
