Hubot script for corona stats

Today I hacked together a small script for my company hubot to show employees a small statistic about the actual corona statistics for our city.

Currently, this script consumes an API that is only able to fetch data for the german region. But i would like to share it because may some one need it.

Golang or Rust, that is the question.

Hey, devs around the world,

I set the goal of learning Golang about a year ago. But then the Stackoverflow Developer Survey was released and I saw that Rust was a good competitor against Golang.

Now, I have some time to learn new stuff but I'm not sure if Golang should be the next language I learn.

What do you guys think about this topic? Will Rust overtake Golang? Because Golang seems never got that popular as Rust currently is and seems not the language that is needed in most business projects in the future.

Would be cool if you can give me your opinion and may a few pros and cons of your decision.

UKs Covid system crashed due using Excel as "backend database"

From the category "you can not think of", the UK used an Excel sheet to save the results of tested Covid-19 cases. As they noticed that the Excel sheet not longer stores anything they took a look at the problem and found out that about 16,000 test cases are missing due the problem that the Excel file reached the maximum data which it can save.

This is the perfect example of "people with no clue doing stuff in the IT world" or "we have no money. your project budget is 5$"

In the UK the number of cases rose rapidly.
But the public – and authorities – are only learning this now because these cases were only published now as a backlog.

The reason was apparently that the database is managed in Excel and the number of columns had reached the maximum.
