Linux ICs update

Assalamualaikum, Linux ICs update One-liner: request → offer → match → complete, with an expert assignments page, cleaner branding, and tests— real progress on connecting new Linux users with local experts.

Short description:
Shipped a big slice of Linux Installation Centers today: seekers can post install requests, local experts can offer help, acceptances lock in a match, and experts now have a My assignments view for active and completed jobs. Seekers can mark an install complete when it’s done. Plus tighter branding (Linux ICs in the app shell), cleaner nav, and tests so the core flow stays solid. Onward.

Slightly longer description:
Today we pushed Linux Installation Centers forward in a concrete way. The MVP flow is live in code: install requests by city/country, expert offers (free or paid), one accepted offer per request, and clear states from open → matched → complete. Experts get My assignments so accepted and finished work is visible in one place; seekers can mark an install complete when they’re happy. We also aligned branding (full name for titles/email, Linux ICs where space is tight), removed starter-kit clutter from the UI, and kept automated tests on the happy path. Good day for anyone who wants local, in-person Linux help.

Hi/Assalamualaikum, I think desktop Linux needs Linux Installation Centers (Linux ICs) where a normal (non technical) person may ask technical persons to have Linux installation/training freely/paid.

I have started this open source project asakpke / Linux-Installation-Centers. Help me in development & spreading this idea.

Hi/Assalamualaikum, I've been periodically checking the download statistics for Roshan OS to see which operating systems our users are coming from. My primary goal 🎯 has always been to attract as many Windows users as possible—after all, Roshan OS was designed to help ease the transition from Windows to Linux.

Typically, Linux users are the ones experimenting with new distros, so they dominate downloads from within the ecosystem. But I'm thrilled to report that Windows users have now surpassed all other OS categories, including Linux! This milestone shows we're successfully reaching our target audience and making Linux more accessible to Windows folks.

Ready to make the switch? Give Roshan OS a try and experience a user-friendly Linux distro designed with Windows users in mind! 🚀

The Future of Software Development: Will AI Take Over, or Will Humans Still Rule?

If you’re new to the world of coding, you might have heard a big question buzzing around: What’s the future of software development with artificial intelligence (AI) in the picture? Some people wonder if AI will replace human developers, while others think it’ll make them even more powerful. Let’s break it down in simple terms—don’t worry, no techy jargon overload here!

 AI: The Super Smart Helper

Imagine you’re building a Lego castle. You’ve got the ideas, but it takes time to snap every brick into place. Now picture a robot assistant who can quickly build the basic walls for you while you focus on designing the cool towers and secret rooms. That’s kind of what AI is doing for software developers today.
Tools like GitHub Copilot (an AI that suggests code) or chatbots can write bits of code, fix bugs, or even test programs. This means developers don’t have to sweat the small stuff as much. Instead of typing every line from scratch, they can tell the AI what they want, and it whips up a rough draft. Pretty neat, right?

 Humans Are Still the Boss

Here’s the catch: AI isn’t smart enough to run the show on its own. It’s like a super helpful intern—it needs someone to tell it what to do. Humans are the ones with the big ideas, the ones who decide, “Hey, let’s make an app that helps people find the best pizza nearby!” AI can’t dream up that goal; it just helps build it once you give it the plan.
So, even with AI getting smarter every day, developers aren’t going anywhere. They’re still the brains behind the operation, figuring out what problems to solve and how to make software fun, useful, or life-changing.

 One Developer, One Software House?

Now, here’s where it gets exciting. Because AI can handle so much of the grunt work—like writing boring code or checking for mistakes—a single developer can do what used to take a whole team. It’s like every coder gets their own mini army of robot helpers. One person might design, build, and launch an entire app, all with AI pitching in. It’s almost like every developer is running their own little software house!
Think of it this way: In the past, making a video game might’ve needed 10 people—someone to code, someone to test, someone to design characters. Now, one person with AI tools could pull it off, directing the AI like a movie director with a crew.

 What Could Change?

This future sounds awesome, but it’s not all smooth sailing. Some worry that AI might take away simple coding jobs—like fixing small bugs—leaving fewer spots for beginners. On the flip side, it could also make coding easier for newbies. With AI handling the tricky bits, anyone with a good idea might build something cool without years of training. It’s hard to say exactly how it’ll shake out, but one thing’s clear: developers who can dream big and work with AI will have a blast.

 The Bottom Line

So, will AI take over software development? Nope, not anytime soon. Instead, it’s more like a superpower for humans. Developers of the future might not just write code—they’ll team up with AI to create faster, smarter, and bigger than ever before. Whether you’re just starting to code or dreaming of your first app, the future looks bright. You won’t need to know everything—just how to guide your AI sidekick to bring your ideas to life.
What do you think? Maybe you’ll be the next developer running your own “software house” with AI by your side! Got any ideas for a project you’d love to build?

Note: article made with the help of AI.
