Shipping: AI Video & AI Image Generation - JustCopy.ai is now a compound creation platform

Two new modules went live today: AI Video Generation and AI Image Generation. That brings JustCopy.ai to five modules — Apps, Blog, Analytics, Video, Image — and each one feeds the others.

If you've been using JustCopy to build apps and write blog posts, you can now generate the ad, the hero banner, the OG card, and the product video from the same workspace. No tab-switching. No stitching tools together. One brainstorm, one prompt, one project.

Here's what shipped.

  AI Video Generation

Describe an idea in plain English. Get a cinema-quality video in 2–3 minutes.

Under the hood, we route to the best model for the job via OpenRouter:

Google Veo 3.1 — the new state of the art for realistic motion and physics

OpenAI Sora 2 — long-form storytelling, character consistency

Alibaba Wan 2.6 — fast, cost-efficient, great for iterations

You don't need to know prompt engineering. Type something like "product launch teaser for a fintech app" and our AI Brainstorm writes the full production prompt for you — camera angles, lighting setup, lens specs, mood, color palette, motion direction. Model-specific, optimized for whichever engine you pick. You can edit the prompt before generating, or ship it straight.

Output settings:

Resolution: 480p / 720p / 1080p

Aspect ratio: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3

Six pre-built templates for common formats (product showcase, logo reveal, social ad, brand story, lifestyle testimonial, cinematic b-roll)

Use it for: product showcases, logo reveals, social media ads, brand storytelling, lifestyle testimonials. A real brand video maker for founders who don't have a creative agency on retainer.

  AI Image Generation

Same brainstorm flow, instant output.

Google Gemini Flash Image — fast, follows complex prompts

Black Forest Labs FLUX.2 Pro — photorealism and typography

ByteDance Seedream 4.5 — stylized and illustrative work

Type "hero banner for a SaaS landing page" → AI writes the prompt → image generates. Multiple aspect ratios. PNG output saved to your workspace storage.

Use it for: OG cards, hero banners, social graphics, product shots, ad creatives. The stuff you always needed a designer for at 11pm before launch.

  The compound platform angle

This is the part we're most excited about.

Build an app in JustCopy → Blog writes the launch post → Video creates the ad → Image makes the OG card → Analytics tracks every click. Every module feeds the next one. The work compounds inside a single project.

We've added an "Add to App" button on every generated video and image. One click and it lands in your project's asset gallery, ready to drop into your app, landing page, or campaign.

Most AI marketing tools give you one sharp knife. We're building the kitchen.

  Technical details

BYOK — use your own OpenRouter API key. You pay OpenRouter directly for what you generate. No markup, no subscription tier for tokens.

Videos stored in S3 with presigned URLs for playback — fast, secure, direct from your workspace.

Images saved as PNG to workspace storage.

Everything scoped to your project.

  Try it

Both modules are live now at justcopy.ai. Open any project, hit Video or Image in the sidebar, type an idea, watch it generate.

We're shipping fast. Next up: audio, voice, and a few things we'll announce when they're ready.

If you build something you're proud of with these, send it our way.

— The JustCopy team

Get Your First 100 Customers: The 8-Week Playbook That Actually Works

After helping 10,000+ users build with JustCopy.AI, I've seen what separates successful launches from failed ones. The difference? It's not the product. It's the customer acquisition strategy.

Here's the exact playbook that takes you from 0 to 100 paying customers in 8-12 weeks.

  The Bottom Line First

Every successful builder starts charging by week 2-3. None wait for "100 free users first."

The timeline:

Week 1: Build with JustCopy.AI

Week 2: Show 10-20 people

Week 3: Add payment

Week 4: Have 3-5 paying customers

This is the playbook that actually works.

Week 1: Your Network (Time: 2-3 hours total)

  Make Your List (30 Minutes)

Write down 50-100 names who:

Have the problem you're solving

You can DM/email/text directly

Will give honest feedback

If you can't hit 50 names, your distribution problem is bigger than your product problem.

  Message Them (30 Minutes)

Real example:

"Hey Sarah, remember you mentioned needing a quick portfolio site? I built one in 90 seconds with JustCopy.AI for my consulting business. Want me to show you how it works? - Mike"

Send personalized messages:

Day 1: Send to 20 people

Day 3: Follow up non-responders

Day 7: Demo calls, ask "Would you pay $X/month?"

Expected: 20 messages → 8-12 responses → 5-8 try it → 2-3 pay

  Weeks 2-8: Scale (5-100 Customers)

You have your first paying customers. Now run three channels in parallel.

  Channel 1: Communities

Find where your customers hang out: Reddit, Facebook Groups, Discord, Slack, X/Twitter.

Be helpful first. Comment on 5+ posts before mentioning your product. Then find recommendation threads:

"I built my portfolio site with JustCopy.AI in 90 seconds. Been using it for 3 months, got 5 clients from it. DM me if you want to see it."

Effort: 5-10 hours/week

Result: 20-30 customers

  Channel 2: Direct Outreach

Build a list of 200-500 people who have your problem. LinkedIn, X, industry directories.

Personalized messages (not templates):

"Hey Jessica, saw your post about needing a quick landing page. I use JustCopy.AI—built mine in 90 seconds, no coding. Want to see how it works?"

Follow up twice, then stop.

Effort: 10-15 hours/week

Result: 30-40 customers

  Channel 3: Content

Write about problems people actually search for:

How-to posts: "How to build a portfolio website in under 2 minutes"

Customer stories: "How I got 5 clients in 30 days with a 90-second website"

X/Twitter threads: Show your journey with real numbers

Effort: 3-5 hours/week

Result: Compounds (100-200 visitors month 1 → 2,000-5,000 by month 6)

  The 48-Hour Customer Challenge

Can you get 3 customers in 48 hours? Here's the exact playbook:

Hour 0-2: Make the list

20 people from your network

20 people from communities

10 cold prospects

Hour 2-8: Send messages
Send all 50 personalized messages (not templates).

Hour 8-24: Follow up

Reply to everyone who responds. Book 5-minute demos.

Hour 24-48: Close

Ask for payment: "Would you pay $X/month for this?"

Expected: 50 messages → 15 responses → 3-5 paying customers

  The First 100 Customers Roadmap

Customers 1-5: Your network (week 1)

Customers 6-20: Close network + communities (weeks 2-3)

Customers 21-50: Communities + outreach (weeks 4-6)

Customers 51-100: Content starts working + referrals (weeks 7-12)

Timeline: 8-12 weeks from $0 to $10K MRR (at $20-50/month pricing)

  What NOT to Do

❌ Don't spam. Personalize every message.

❌ Don't pitch features. Talk about outcomes.

❌ Don't ask for feedback. Ask if they'll pay.

❌ Don't give unlimited free access. Time-box trials (14 days).

❌ Don't wait for perfection. Ship with bugs, fix them fast.

  The Real Timeline

With JustCopy.AI, building takes 90 seconds. But customers take 90 days:

Week 1: Your network (2-5 customers)

Weeks 2-8: Communities + outreach + content (95 more customers)

Weeks 9-12: Referrals and compounding growth

The product takes 90 seconds. The customers take 90 days. Both are worth it.

Try JustCopy.AI: https://justcopy.ai

What's your biggest challenge in getting your first customers? Drop a comment below!

Hey DEV Community! 👋

I'm excited to share JustCopy.ai - an AI-powered platform that's been solving a problem I faced constantly as a developer: the friction between having an idea and getting it live on the web.

  The Problem

How many times have you had a brilliant idea for a website or app, but the thought of setting up the infrastructure, writing boilerplate code, and deploying everything made you delay or even abandon it?

For me, it was constantly. I wanted to move fast, validate ideas quickly, and focus on what matters - not spend hours on setup.

  The Solution: JustCopy.ai

We built JustCopy.ai to go from idea to live website in ~90 seconds. Seriously.

Here's what it does:

  🎯 Core Features

Clone Any Website: Paste a URL → AI recreates the frontend + backend instantly

AI Generation: Describe what you want → Get a fully functional website

Professional Content: Generate slides, presentations, business documents, and reports

One-Click Deploy: AWS, SSL, CDN - everything configured automatically

  ⚡ Why It's Fast

We've optimized the entire pipeline:

AI models trained specifically for web development

Pre-configured infrastructure templates

Automated deployment workflows

Average time: 90 seconds from prompt to live URL

  📊 Traction So Far

Since launching, we've seen:

10,000+ users building with the platform

20,000+ projects created and deployed

Developers using it for MVPs, landing pages, internal tools, and more

  🔮 What's Next

We're working on advanced context engineering - the AI will deeply understand your product, team, and industry. When you create new documents or presentations, it'll auto-generate personalized content with full context.

  Who It's For

Indie hackers who need to validate ideas fast

Startups prototyping MVPs

Developers building side projects

Agencies creating client websites quickly

Anyone who wants to move from idea to production faster

  Try It Out

🔗 justcopy.ai

We also have 1000+ battle-tested templates from companies like Stripe, Airbnb, and Netflix that you can use as starting points.

I'd love to hear your thoughts! Have you faced similar frustrations with the idea-to-deployment process? What would make your workflow faster?

Happy to answer any questions about how we built this or the tech stack behind it! 🚀

AI Agents Are Notorious: A $200 Lesson in Autonomous Systems

So I just learned a very expensive lesson about AI agents.

I've been working on justcopy.ai - basically a tool where you can copy any website, customize it, and deploy it. To make this work, I built 7 AI agents that do the heavy lifting, following standard dev workflows.

  What happened

Last week I started up the agents to test something, then stepped out to grab coffee. Came back maybe 2 hours later and checked my OpenRouter dashboard.

My bill had jumped $100.

First reaction: "Oh shit, are people actually using this?" Got excited for like 30 seconds thinking I had real users hammering the API.

Nope.

Added some logging and realized the agent I kicked off earlier was STILL running. Just churning through API calls. Completely autonomous. By the time I caught it, I'd burned through $200.

  The fix

I had to add interrupt checks everywhere. Now before an agent makes any API call, it checks if it's been told to stop. Also added:

Hard timeouts on everything

Budget caps per session

Better logging so I can see WTF is happening

Seems obvious in hindsight but yeah... autonomous doesn't mean it knows when to quit.

  Anyway

If you're building stuff with AI agents and running into similar issues, hit me up. Would be happy to compare notes on what works (and what drains your bank account).

The Problem We Solved

Every developer faces the eternal dilemma: need it fast? Quality suffers. Need it perfect? Speed suffers. Traditional AI coding assistants treat every request the same way, but building a hackathon prototype is completely different from building production software. That's why we built JustCopy.ai with two distinct modes.

Two Modes, Two Philosophies
⚡ Prototype Mode uses 3 specialized AI agents (Builder, Tester, Deployer) to ship MVPs in 15 minutes. It makes smart assumptions, uses templates liberally, and deploys instantly to Vercel/Netlify. Perfect for hackathons, demos, and idea validation. We literally won a hackathon by having a working app while others were still configuring webpack.

🏭 Production Mode brings 7 expert AI agents working sequentially - Requirements Analyst, UX Architect, Data Architect, Frontend Dev, Backend Dev, QA Engineer, and Production Deployer. You get 80%+ test coverage, WCAG AA accessibility, <2s load times, and proper CI/CD. This is for real apps that serve real users and make real money.

Transform Ideas into Apps with AI-Powered Development Agents

JustCopy.ai launches game-changing Prototype Mode and Production Mode - bringing specialized AI agents to every stage of your development journey. Build MVPs in minutes or production-ready apps with enterprise-grade quality.

  🎯 The Problem We're Solving

Every developer faces the eternal dilemma:

Need it fast? Quality suffers

Need it perfect? Speed suffers

Need both? Welcome to JustCopy.ai

Traditional AI coding assistants treat every request the same way. But building a quick prototype requires a completely different approach than building production software. That's why we built two distinct modes with specialized AI agents for each phase.

⚡ Prototype Mode: Ship Fast, Iterate Faster
Speed Over Perfection Philosophy
Prototype Mode is designed for rapid experimentation and MVP development. Our AI agents prioritize getting something working TODAY over getting everything perfect.

Meet Your Prototype Team
🏗️ Prototype Builder Agent

Makes smart assumptions instead of asking endless questions
Uses templates, libraries, and shortcuts liberally
Hardcodes when necessary to move fast
Documents assumptions for later refinement
Focuses on core functionality over edge cases

🧪Prototype Tester Agent

Runs quick smoke tests (does it work?)
Validates main user flows only
Fixes critical bugs immediately
Documents minor issues for later
Skips comprehensive testing for speed
🚀 Prototype Deployer Agent

Auto-selects deployment platform (Vercel, Netlify, Railway)
One-click deployment with zero configuration
Uses free tiers by default
Gets you a shareable link in minutes
Skips custom domains and advanced configs
Real Results
User: "Build me a task management app"
Prototype Mode: ✅ Working app deployed in 15 minutes

Perfect For:
🎨 Hackathons & demos
💡 Validating ideas quickly
🔬 Experimentation & learning
📱 MVPs & proof-of-concepts
🎯 Client presentations
🏭 Production Mode: Enterprise-Grade Quality

Quality-First Architecture
Production Mode brings 7 specialized AI agents working in sequential phases to build scalable, secure, maintainable applications that are ready for real users.

Your Production Dream Team

Designs intuitive user flows and journeys
Creates wireframes and interaction patterns
Applies UX best practices (Nielsen's heuristics)
Ensures accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA)
Maps mental models to interfaces

🗄️ Data Architect

Designs normalized database schemas
Creates entity relationship diagrams
Plans for data migrations
Optimizes for performance with indexes
Ensures data integrity

I Got Tired of Setting Up React Projects, So I Built AI Agents to Do It For Me

Spoiler: They're way better at it than I am

The Problem That Wouldn't Go Away

Look, I'll be honest. I'm lazy.

Not in a bad way, but in that good developer way where you hate doing the same thing twice. And I was setting up React/Next.js projects constantly. New idea? New side project. Experimenting with something? You guessed it - new project.

The ritual was always the same:

npx create-next-app
(wait 2 minutes)

Install Tailwind (configure, wait, debug why it's not working)

Set up Express backend (more waiting, more configuring)

Write the same auth boilerplate I've written 47 times

Set up the database stuff

Actually start building the thing I wanted to build

By the time I got to step 6, I'd lost momentum. Sometimes I'd just give up entirely.

  My Weekend Rabbit Hole

A few months back, I was messing around with multi-agent AI stuff. You know how it is - you start reading about something interesting, next thing you know it's 3 AM and you're building something you never planned to build.

I had this dumb thought: "What if I could just tell an AI what I want to build, and it handles all the setup crap?"

Not just code completion. Not just answering questions. Actually spinning up environments, writing files, running commands, the whole nine yards.

Most people would think "that's impossible" or "that sounds dangerous." I thought "hold my coffee."

  Building Something That Actually Works

Here's where it got interesting. I tried the obvious approach first - one big AI that does everything. Total disaster. It would start strong, then get confused halfway through and start overwriting its own work.

Turns out (and this probably should have been obvious), building apps requires different types of thinking:

One part of your brain plans the architecture. Another part writes the actual code. Another part runs tests and commands. Another part reviews everything to make sure it's not garbage.

So I split it up:

// This actually works way better
architect_agent: "Figures out what to build and how"
coder_agent: "Writes the actual files"
executor_agent: "Runs commands and manages stuff"
reviewer_agent: "Makes sure everything isn't broken"

Each one is good at their specific job. They talk to each other through simple messages instead of trying to do everything at once.

The Security Nightmare I Had to Solve

Obviously, letting AI run arbitrary commands on your computer is... not smart. I learned this the hard way when an early version tried to
rm -rf
something it shouldn't have.

So everything runs in isolated containers now. Each session gets a fresh environment that can't touch anything important. The AI can only run a whitelist of safe commands:

// If it's not on this list, it's not happening
const safe_commands = [
'npm', 'yarn', 'git', 'mkdir', 'touch', 'ls', 'cat', 'cd'
];

Also, file operations only work inside a specific workspace folder. No sneaky business with system files.

  The Numbers Don't Lie

After letting this thing generate about 1,000 projects, here's what actually happened:

Setting up a new project used to take me 45-60 minutes on average (including all the "wait, why isn't this working?" debugging). Now it takes 3-5 minutes.

But here's the weird part - the AI is actually better at the setup than I am:

Makes way fewer ESLint errors in boilerplate code

Never forgets to add TypeScript types

Always sets up tests (which I definitely forget to do)

Follows consistent patterns (unlike my "whatever works" approach)

The most common requests are authentication (67% of projects), database setup (54%), and API routes (49%). Makes sense - those are the boring parts nobody wants to write from scratch every time.

Why I Made It Opinionated (And You Should Too)

I could have tried to support every framework under the sun. Vue, Angular, Svelte, Python, PHP, whatever. But I didn't.

justcopy.ai only does React/Next.js + Tailwind + Node/Express. That's it.

This sounds limiting, but it's actually what made it work. When the AI has clear constraints, it makes way better decisions. It knows exactly what "good" looks like in this specific context.

Plus, honestly, this is what I use for everything anyway. If you want Django + Vue, build your own thing.

  The Communication Breakthrough

The biggest technical win was figuring out how to make the agents talk to each other without stepping on each other's toes.

Instead of just throwing text back and forth, they send structured messages:

{
  type: 'file_operation',
  from: 'architect',
  to: 'coder',
  action: 'create_component',
  target: 'src/components/Dashboard.tsx',
  context: {
    imports_needed: ['react', 'tailwind'],
    relates_to: ['User.ts', 'api/auth.ts']
  }
}

This stopped the chaos where multiple agents would try to modify the same file at the same time.

  What's Next

Right now, this works great if you want to build things the way I build things. But I know that's not everyone.

Next up: letting you configure the agents for your preferred stack. Want Vue instead of React? Python instead of Node? Different coding patterns? You'll be able to set that up.

# Coming soon-ish
my_preferences:
  frontend: "vue"
  backend: "python/django"
  styling: "scss"
  deployment: "docker"

  Stuff I Learned Building This

Multiple specialized agents > one "smart" agent

Constraints make AI work better, not worse

Security is harder than you think (containerize everything)

Structured communication prevents AI chaos

Real-world testing beats theoretical planning every time

  Tools That Made This Possible

LangChain/AWS Strands for wrangling the agents

Docker for not letting AI destroy my computer

OpenAI and Anthropic API for the actual intelligence

A lot of coffee and stubbornness

AWS for everything else

  Try It If You Want

I put this at justcopy.ai if you want to see what happens when AI handles your project setup.

Honestly, I'm curious what other people think. What setup tasks do you hate most? What would you want AI agents to handle? What tech stacks should I add next?

The goal isn't replacing developers (that would be dumb). It's getting rid of the repetitive stuff so we can focus on the interesting problems.

Been working on this for months and it still feels like magic when it works. Which is most of the time now.

What's the most annoying part of starting new projects for you? Let me know in the comments.
