I am going to leave this site. I realize, I was not consistent enough with my posts and there is just too much going on in my life.

Also I am not really fond of this platform due to the artificially-positive AI-posts. Almost every post is now AI generated and talks about how fantastic it is. As you may know, I am not the biggest fan of this technology. It's a great invention and already helped solving many mysteries in the scientific community. But as it is right now, big tech is trying to shove it everywhere in order to profit from it. Already many communities have been dissolved or straight up ripped away from their homeland, in order to build data centers. How to become busy af

Most straightforward answer right here: Get a full time job. Just like me.

I got really lucky with my current workplace. I was unemployed for almost half a year. I was struggling really hard, finding a fitting job. There was just no way for me to find something interesting or even pleasing. The whole job market is still going crazy and people are unhappy. I was one of those people.

One day I decided to stop sending out applications to places which have multimedia-like work in mind. Except for the one single and random application I sent to a company, which is stationed further away from my home. They sell software. But I guessed "Meh I have nothing to lose." And thus sent all the necessary things to them.

I suddenly got multiple calls from them, inviting me over to their place. Long story short, I got the job, because they were to lazy to find someone else. They had multiple applicants in the past, but none of them really worked and left or got fired. I went along with the people. They are really nice. They try their best and always look forward to my contributions.

What makes it so exhausting is the fact, that I work full time and the organization in this company is pretty fucked. I am still trying to find my way through and understand all the workflow steps they take. But it's not easy. But I am glad I can work a job, which does not involve a restaurant or a convenience store.

Actually, I just want to make games...

Yeah... But I guess it will take so much more time for me in order to do the stuff I wanna do. I don't know how long I'll be working my current job. But until then, I guess I'll be working and do some random stuff on the side.

WTF I Got a Job ?!?!

Yeah you read right. I am still kind of processing it, since it's an actual "high" paying office job.

Some context: I was about to give up on finding a "computer" or "media" job. I've sent ~50 applications and only got two interviews (winning with the last one).

I am pretty happy with the final result. But the path gave me more headaches than I suspected. I still feel the same "dread" I had before when I was unemployed for multiple months. Hope it'll go away.

What to Do?

First: Start working.
Second: Think about how I should continue my business development.
Third: Still have enough time for myself and the people important to me.

While working a full time job... This is going to be pretty interesting. I would appreciate any advice <3

Okay so I am still jobless and poor. What a great time to start a new project right?

Why even start a new project???

I am already working on a business idea which revolves around creating marketable footage for other game developers. Since I am still unemployed I cannot really allow myself to work on this idea. I know I'll be able to find some sort of low wage job soon. I realized that what I really need is work, which does not drain too much of my mental energy and pays good enough money. Until then I'll be applying for jobs and start a "new" game development journey!

Okay but why can you not work on your business idea anyway?

To create a profitable business (long term) it takes mainly two things:

Stability. Enough cash and a roof over your head.
Time. Enough time to experiment and fail.

Without stability I won't be able to make the right decisions and being unemployed means, time is running out. My business is still an idea. It's not even a final document. With this in mind it's not really a smart move to work on a business this way. Some years ago maybe I would have still done it. Probably wouldn't succeed. Now being a bit older, I realize: Good things come with patience. So... I wanna do gamedev until then yaaaayyy !!!

Is this even a good idea???

I don't know. What I know is that my creative core is being ignored and prevented from developing further. I am a creative guy with many skills. I cannot sit there and just do one thing and do nothing else productive. Even tho I am unemployed, even tho I have a business to grow, I cannot allow myself to just focus on the job part. I need my creative juice to go flowing...

Well... It's not as easy as I thought it would be. Of course.

I've been struggling working on my video-business idea since I've been looking for a job to pay my rent. It's ridiculous how impossible it seems to find a well paying job. I've sent over 30-40 E-Mails and got only one interview. I am still unemployed.

It's difficult to stay focused on the business, while sailing a ship which could sink any moment now. I will still try to keep up with the updates.

I would really love to freelance but this is not the right time. First I am going to find a simple job, get some cash. Everything else comes after.

Sorry for the negative post today but this is unfortunately how it is. I will try my best to be able to post new positive news.

My business plan is still not finished and and I am still not in the right setting to make content for my business. But still... I am writing this in hope of some change in the next few days.

I am getting busier. Which is a good thing. I can start planning out my time and try to meet my goals that way. I am glad I can do this!
